From ScrewAttack: "We've played every single fighting game ever* and have narrowed down the best of the best to create a list so controversial it will make your nose bleed. If you saw our Top 10 Worst Fighting Games you knew this was coming."
I really honestly miss the glory days of fighting games. When eaither of MK2 fans and SF2 fans were more obssessed and hardcore than PS3, 360, PC and Wii fanboys combined! Arcade days... will they ever come back? BTW, MK FTW!
guilty gear is the most underrated fighting games of them all. it should be right behind mvc2 and street fighter. i've played all of those and guilty gear has one of the most advanced fighting systems out there.
people underrate it because its too flashy and think it doesn't have substance. i for one love it.. slayer ftw
I agree. It's definitly underrated. I always love playing it wether it's on my PS2 or PSP. Heaven or Hell... Testament FTW!
haha yes. eddie ftw
I always disagree with ScrewAttack lists and this is no exception. SSB is fun but NOWHERE near a deep and classic fighter and doesn't belong to top 10. Tekken 3 should be much higher and so should MK2 (Which IMO must be 2nd). And first (For me), will always be the original Soul Calibur THE best fighting game EVER.
It's no wonder you have so many bubbles. Soulcalibur for Dreamcast was a perfect game. I can still play MK2, unlike 1 and 3. Where would you put Killer Instinct on your list?
Thanks :) Couldn't agree more. Original Soul Calibur for DC is one of the very few perfect games and indeed the best fighter todate.
Puppy Montage.>>>AWWW>&g t;>OMG..!!!..LOL... Umm Tekken 3 should have been higher..and..SSB doesn't deserve to be on te list..and Street Fighter 2 should have been number 1
I'm totally glad Killer Instinct and Guilty Gear made it to the list. And yes... Rare, if you're listening, bring this to Xbox Live Arcade. Please, please, please, please, please, please? =(
THIS IS THE REAL TOP TEN FIGHTING GAMES OF ALL TIME! Phil Harrisons Pick-z 1) Street Fighter 2 World Warrior 2) Mortal Kombat 2 3) Samurai Shodown 2 4) King Of Fighters 95 5) Virtua Fighter 2 6) Tekken 2 7) Killer Instinct 8) Dead Or Alive 5 9) Soul Caliber 10) Marvel VS Capcom Bubble me if you agree! Because you will be a real hardcore back in time 1990's gamer......................... ......
street fighter 3: third strike is the best of the series. Virtual fighter 5 is the best of the series tekken 3 is the best of the series marvel vs capcom is the best of the series every fighting game enthusiast would agree
Dead or Alive 5, eh? I had no idea the game was already out.
I always thought that Tekken Tag Tournament was the best of the series
The best thing IMO is that the 2 kings of arcade / fighters era (Namely Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter) are returning for next-gen consoles with SFIV and MK8. Can't wait for them (Though a bit more can't wait for MK8).
1. Soul Calibur 2. Mortal Kombat 2 3. Street Fighter Alpha 3 4. Marvel vs. Capcom 2 5. Killer Instinct 6. Guilty Gear X2 Reload 7. DOA4 8. VF5 9. Darkstalkers 3 10. Eternal Champions CD
Perfect list and OMG! How could I forget about Eternal Champions! Really awesome catch and list. Bubbles for you my friend :)
Why was super smash bros. on there, but Power Stone 2 wasn't? Power Stone 2 was and always will be the best brawler. Also, Tekken: Dark Resurrection got higher reviews than DOA4 and VF5. Why would Tekken be so low on the list? I mean, Tekken:DR WAS incredible. For a PSP game...it totally blows every console fighter out of the water... (Also, it's on the PSN)
What's up with the order? Killer Instinct... seriously? I'd take Primal Rage or Clayfighters over that game any day. Also, Mortal Kombat (although fun, is one of the crappiest fighting franchises ever made) being in the top 5 is a joke. No love for Samurai Spirits (Shodown), Last Blade II, Darkstalkers, King of Fighters, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, Hokuto no Ken, Battle Raper II (kidding) Side Note: King of Fighters 11, Neo Geo Coliseum, Fatal Fury Anthology, Art of Fighting Anthology, Fire Pro Wrestling all just came out for the PS2 for $15 each. Street Fighter Anniversary and Alpha Anthology are $20 each
I think you mean KOF XI. XII is still in development. Also, NGBC doesn't come out until December I think.
oops, you're right. Coliseum comes out in a week or two, but I thought it was worth mentioning. I hope Snk fixes the load time for the American version
Killer Instinct has no place on that list. Is Smash really even a fighting game? Where is King of Fighters 98? Where is Samurai Showdown 2? Where is Garou? All three should be on that list. Also, only having the best in the series really screws the list. Killer Instinct on a "Best Fighting Games" list that doesn't include SFII? hahahahahahahahahahhaah
Street Fighter III is better than SFII. What's so hard to understand about that?
I said "Also, only having the best in the series really screws the list." What's so hard to understand about that?
1. Virtua Fighter 5 Nothing even compares to it.
I like how there's not a single SNK fighter on that list. Except, not really :(
where is WCW vs NWO: World Tour Fight Night round 2/3 Rival School KOF 98 Garou they should have taken out some of the games there. freak man.... seriously...... WCW vs NWO: World Tour FTW!!!!
No Garou or KOF 98 is a joke.
I don't even consider SMB a fighting game, it isn't. As for my tops, Tekken owns and will continue to own for a long time. I used to be into MK but that series just fizzled out. One that I loved and that someone needs to bring back is Bloody Roar, that was my ish!!!!
It was and still is hands down the best weapon fighter in the history of vidiot games IMO. A little unbalanced, but that never took away from its brilliance. It had that certain something that could keep you roped in and coming back for more. Let's hope the new one doesn't dissapoint, fingers crossed. I've heard tell though, Namco's going back to a feel that's geared towards the Dreamcast versions feel. I can only hope.
