i wanna see just cause 3,not this!!! fluffydelusions i don't have nothing against alan wake, but i just wanna see jc3 in vga awards this year!
Why? Alan Wake was a great game! Though I do wish there was a bit more variety and exploring other areas. Too much forest and lots of other areas left untouched. BTW video is not loading for me. Working link: http://www.gametrailers.com...
AhAH good one AW make you cry.
Hot DAMN! I can't wait for some hard facts on this game. Only reason I watch that excuse of a game award show is for these announcements, it's like E3 Part II.
it said Xbox Live arcade below. wtf?
Yeah its a XBLA.
It's going to be a downloadable title.
Love Alan Wake so really excited to play this.
This games gonna be fantastic can't wait for the reveal. I still resent the fact its an Arcade Title (sorry that's the only thing I don't like) bring it on VGA's.
It hurts me to see a game I love is being crapped on by Microsoft. Why the hell make Remedy waste their time on an XBLA game when they could of made Alan Wake 2, a full retail sequel. They had this amazing game they could of turned into a brillaint franchise which seperated it from the Xboxs same old shooters. I mean I understand downloadable spin offs AFTER like three or four games in the current franchise to give the series a break but there hasn't even been a sequel yet. Hell it's still Alan as the main character so doing DLC for the old game could of still been a possibility If they were going to do this why not just make more episodes for Alan Wake instead of cutting back on the idea. Apparently they were going to do loads on Alan Wake but in the end only did two episodes, the Signal and the Writer.
:cough: alan wake 2 on next box :cough: lol
Alan Wake 2 is a full on, retail, disc-based sequel being actively produced and developed by Remedy Games with Microsoft Game Studios. This information has been leaked, hinted at indirectly (and directly) by Remedy employees, and even teased by OXM as a launch title for the Xbox Loop/10/720. Alan Wake XBLA is an "meanwhile" project headed by less than 10 (Read: TEN) people in Remedy to keep fans sated whilst they wait till what could be 2013 for the next Alan Wake "sequel", as well as introduce new players to the fold. Would I like a physical disc? Sure. But getting Alan Wake XBLA as a digital title doesn't mean MS has cast aside the franchise or doesn't care. Aren't full games now downloadable on PSN and XBL? Does that make them somehow inferior to their physical brethren? MS is interested in Digital Distribution, and they do a damn good job promoting their DD games. I grow tired of having to explain this to "fans". All this information is freely available to the public. And as a matter of fact, this post sounds eerily familiar to that of WhiteLightning's in the Game Informer Screen Reveal thread ... @TheBlackMask: Like clockwork. I never called anyone a hater or a fanboy. It'd be best if you read with understanding and avoided putting word in my post I never said. I have no problem with people's opinions, but when those opinions, **It hurts me to see a game I love is being crapped on by Microsoft.** are stated as fact, then we have issue.
Oh I knew you would comment, every single person I've seen (funny enough even Whitelightning being one of them) who say they would like it to be on a disc or be a sequel... your always there. If they like the game aswell yet have a different opinion to you then you start to get all defensive and call them a hater or a fanboy....yet what PS3 fanboy would play Alan Wake and love it. Honestly don't get your panties in a twist.
Maybe Microsoft listened to N4G posters and decided that 9 gig of DVD is not big enough and decided to make a 25gb full downloadable sequel.
Microsoft isn't making Remedy do anything. They are independent and own the Alan Wake IP. They decided to do this, as Clizzz explains perfectly well below.
It's not getting crapped on in the least, Microsoft spent quite a bit of money locking up Alan Wake and 3 sequels. it was originally going to be a game on PS3, PC and Xbox 360, but Microsoft paid for the rights exclusively. This isn't the direct sequel to Alan Wake, this is probably something along the lines of what Case Zero was for Dead Rising 2, something to bridge games together. I wish people would quit trying to bad mouth Microsoft and Remedy, especially considering when so many seem to not know what the hell they are talking about.
I realy realy want it to be on a physical disc. I want it in my shelf with the rest of the games.
It won't be a XBLA title as we know it. This game is perfect for episodic content and that is what MS will do .You heard it here first.
I totally agree with this. The 1st game played like a tv series.
A surprise to see at as an XBLA title. But we'll see at the VGAs what it's about.
no disc no buy
Bummed it's downloadable only though.
