Why Ganon Isn't In Zelda: Skyward Sword

Despite a presence in most Zelda games, Nintendo confirmed earlier this year that Ganon wouldn't appear in The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword. While the character hasn't been in every Zelda game, he's a part of the franchise's iconic trinity with Link and Zelda, and is frequently represented as one third of the Triforce. Just prior to the recent Legend of Zelda 25th Anniversary Concert, we spoke with Zelda producer Eiji Aonuma about the reason for Ganon's absence, as well as the role of tradition in the Zelda franchise.

The story is too old to be commented.

im glad he isnt in it. this gives the game a chance to be actually memorable and not repetitive like other zelda games

Ok, so by your logic Ocarina of Time was not memorable because Ganondorf/Ganon was the main villian?

No OoT was where zelda got soo damn big, but ever since its always been ganondorf/ganon. Which led people to getting a little fed up with him. Just like it would be nice to get Mario fighting someone else too. Just for the heck of it.

Ganon wasn't in part 2 either...even though it said The Return of Ganon when you died.
