Here is the first screenshot of the next Alan Wake title, a downloadable adventure available through Xbox Live Arcade.
Sweet, looks like he has a Nail Gun as a weapon. I loved Alan Wake, Im excited to play this one. edit- yo milkjdo I think that is a nail gun and not a drill, will have to wait and see tho.
Thanks for pointing that out :) Just went by first glance impressions. I wonder what he will use it for?
Just dissapointed that the original was canned on PC.
Malol- They sold a mill+ and it scored above an 8...not the next Max Payne type IP in terms of popularity and sales but not a flop, underwhelming maybe, not a fail. Commander_TK - A lot of people are dissapointed the PC version got canned, but MS knew they had to outcompete the PS3 on the console front and they didn't have enough muscle to spread the love to the PC community too. I would have hoped they'd port it to PC evenutally tho...damn shame if you ask me, but perhaps not a financially viable option.
That is one powerful flashlight o.o
have you played battlefield? lol
flashlights in BF3 is like looking at the sun
haha true.... flash lights in day time maps should be useless
I can't wait for this!!! Alan Wake was one of the best games I've ever played!
Cant wait for this! I mean so many people are disappointed that its just an XBLA game, HOWEVER. Look at Dead Rising. It's had a few XBLA Spin Offs leading into a sequel. Why not Alan Wake? :)
And Case West was almost more fun than Dead Rising 2 imo. Can't wait to play this. I loved Alan Wake.
Looks like Alan's Taken ... *Puts on Shades* ... the long way home. *You already knoooooow*
That made me lol! :P EDIT: Nawww. You changed it. Now people will be wondering what I lolled at :(
Ohh yes hopefully more town exploring. I'm really excited for this new chapter! (if it is a chapter)
Yeah they could do much more with the exploration scenarios, they ended way too quickly in the first one.
It looks pretty. Maybe it'll play alright as well this time, was so disappointed by the original.
Duracell batteries this time?. Boost mobile phones?. Hopefully he traded in that lame Lincon for a Dodge Power Wagon.
nah I believe he used a ford in the first one.
this is how they are treating one of the best games avalible on the 360, this game should be a full release and i reckon there e3 would have looked a whole lot better with the announcement of alan wake 2. DAMN YOU MICROSOFT
Its alright man, there has been numerous magazines which are saying MS and Remedy are planning Alan Wake 2 on the next xbox. *crosses fingers* please be true, please be true.
It's sounds more like to me that this is going to be episodic. Remedy kept talking about this when Alan Wake was released. I like the idea, because it could be years before we get another full Alan Wake release. Heck there are rumors of Alan Wake 2 for the next Xbox 360 and that seems years away.
I agree and don't agree with you you don't know what it's going to play like so just wait before you make a judgement. I mean you don't know how this is going to be advertise or any thing.
I think I'll pass and see if they'll include this into Alan Wake 2. Could of been a great IP for you guys Microsoft, don't see why you had to give it a downloadable title. It hasn't even had a sequel yet. <sigh>
The developers will probably gauge the criticisms and the fan response on how to shape AW2. I enjoyed part 1, the episode style was fantastic, but the gameplay got way too monotonous.
Sucks because i realy want to play this but im not connected to live so im not going to be able to play it =/ whole reason i got an xbox was for alan wake, love that game its so underrated.Hope they release a physical copy in the future.
i love Alan Wake but i dont support digital download , i want my fisical disc in my collection
i use to be like that but its good to have digital downloads, this game is my very example. i had downloaded it and did not have time to play it, so i deleted it before i got threw playing it, but when i finally got time to play it i just simply downloaded it again. now if it was a disc i would have traded it and would have to pay to get it again., thats the good thing about digital download if you lose your your data you can get it again for free.
Do you mean physical disc?
im going to give alan wake a rent ive been hearing good things about it.
one of the best games on xbox
do i have to buy an xbox to play this :/?
No, you can play this on your xbox live enabled microwave.
No DonaldBeck the troll, you can download it and play it on your pink Nintendo Gameboy Color.
this makes me legitimately upset. such a great franchise, from a great developer gets this sort of treatment. way to have faith in one of your only remaining good exclusive IPs.
Gunstringer started life off as an xbla title, hopefully this too will make the jump.
so did odst so yhea it could happesn.
Trolls not losing any time doing what they do. I'm sorry, but since when did Digital become bad? If you "concerned" commenters knew anything, you'd know that this is a stop-gap title meant to bring in new players into the fold whilst giving us old timers fresh content to hold over for Alan Wake 2. Not to mention that this keeps costs low for both Remedy AND Microsoft and allows them to recoup a greater amount of costs than they would with a retail disc. But I forgot where we are, and the fact of the matter is that no matter what MS does, despite keeping on with Remedy and giving us more of an IP that is arguably one of the best on the platform right now, all you'll do is find nonexistent issues to argue about. You can be sure that MS is going to market this game carefully like they do with their crown jewel XBLA titles.
So people are trolls for thinking Alan Wake deserved a full retail sequel instead of a downloadable only title...maybe some of us havent got the space to spare or it could be because people like having a the disc something we can hold in our hands. It means your going to have to play this to understand AW2. I don't want it to go off into spin offs when it hasn't even had a sequel yet.
Clearly someone who actually enjoyed the game would be happy to get more AW, and woulnt cry like a whiny PS3 fanboy before knowing jack crap about the game just because its a digital release. ahha a bunch of haters on here, making illegitimate complaints FROM ONE SCREEN SHOT. Simply because its a download? Lol, guess all these people forgot that AW was divided into episodes and would be perfect for DL episodes between big games, or most likely, they never even played it and are just trying to hate because they are butthurt for whatever reason. Who knows what this is even going to be like. Is it stand alone, or does it tie in to the story and lead into AW 2? Is it one episode or is it multiple episodes? How much does it cost? Im just happy its more AW, regardless if its 1 episode or 5. It seems like there will still be a AW 2 regardless of what this is and this could add to the story. But you haters should just not bother playing it if your already hating for no reason....ohh wait you haters dont have a 360 anyways lol.
So this isn't Alan Wake 2? so this must be another episode-ish type of game, right?
Love Alan Wake, can't wait for this.
Suddenly Alan wake has alot of ps3 owning fans. . .weird isn't it? Everybody's concerned about how the ip is being treated. When the proper sequel gets an announcement all this concern goes out the window and its back to hating. Typical.
Downloadable only?? Why? BTW looks amazing
-I'm wondering why Mr.Wake decided on the early 90's grunge style, comfortable yes, but i'm a little confused. he must have lost his clothes from the first game, or he's taken up full on residency at Bright Falls - Alan Wake has that special place, like twin peaks, it's totally fucked and that it why i love it, and you can only discuss it with people who have actually played it!, not just read about it!.. New Downloadable Alan Wake is better than no Alan Wake! :)
although its non-ending and bulls**t DLC left a bitter taste in my mouth once proceedings wrapped up. I'm trying to muster up some excitement for this next installment, but knowing it's not a true sequel and just some downloadable-only title is seriously taking the wind out of my sails. Can't help but feel Remedy are being held back from executing their own true vision of how the Alan Wake saga should unfold.
I actually think this is what remedy wanted remember alan wake is set out in episodes.
I'll take a downloadable follow-up with a ton of heart in it over a thousand soullessly pumped-out AAA sequels. And this one just happens to look really pretty too. Definitely keeping my eye on this. If a downloadable game isn't "good enough" for you guys, that's your problem. If that market weren't around, there wouldn't be ANY kind of follow-up. I'm grateful we're getting anything and I'm sure the developers will put all they got into it. Not to mention, a lower budget could mean we won't be seeing all that product placement. That's okay in my book.
I enjoyed Alan Wake until the first two chapters, but then it got just too repetitive for me to care.Sure,it's full of some standout moments (like the Bridge poltergeist),but it was disappointing overall. The non-ending actually left me angry, which might be a first for me while gaming.I'll probably pass on this one...
Can't wait for all the "When will Alan Wake up" comments to come back. I really do miss the open zone.
