Editorial: Why is the Gaming Community Filled With So Much Hate?

It's been going on a for a while, but it's been getting worse lately. The gaming community in general is a giant bunch of haters. Whether it's fanboys and console wars, different opinions on a game, there's always someone around to start some drama. Seriously, what's the deal here?

I don't know what he's talking about. We all love one another; N4G is proof of the pudding example of that. Why, if it wasn't virtual we'd be known as a Gentlemen's Club. This chap just needs to sit down and have a jolly chat with the gang here, whadda you guys say?

drunkpandas5994d ago

You, my friend, are funny :)

Lol. The prime example of an educated America using clear and concise arguments backed by logical information.

snoop_dizzle5994d ago (Edited 5994d ago )

yeah there is hate. and its quite sad how far some people go, but i think here at n4g its more like brothers and sisters fighting. Were family..(sobs greatly)

lol jackdoe. Right, fight the power my friend! Fight arrogance with arrogance ... or something..i dunno, i couldn't think of anything empowering. Sorry.

the internet gives people a way for them to let everyone know their opinions and complain. Just shows that humans must be the most unhappy creatures on the planet.

So much truth.......

Or mainly because north americans just keep picking on the PS3 to just make the company that made it feel and look bad while there praising the worse console that has the most worse hardware on the face of the planet! there were alot of bad news for that console that didn't work and other problems but it seems that they just consentrated more on the PS3 so yeah thats why theres more hate on the game industry is because the media starts it and make fanboys on both sides riled up!.

Skizelli5994d ago

The editor makes some valid points and even now you're still spewing your bias. Amazing.

Some people, like you, just don't have a clue. Grow up a little.

socomnick5994d ago

Try Again . Next time please make sense.

yamamoto1145994d ago

Wow. You know, I finished reading the article, and I was like, "I bet you a couple fanboys defeated the purpose of this article in the comments," and so I scrolled down, and BOOM, there you are.

Idiot.

fiercescuba5994d ago

Its nice when you spend 45 minutes reviewing something to have someone call you a f&ggot because they don't agree. Its the same way everywhere. There are still people who email the best critics in the world and tell them they suck just for the hell of it.

PS3 Limps on and on5994d ago

If I was them, I would be enjoying games not wasting my time trying to drive PS3 to the ground.

I remember last gen, I wasn't wasting my time trying to bring down the XBOX. I was just enjoying my PS2. If your console has the lead and all the best games then enjoy it.

I'm a PS3 defender not an XBOX 360 attacker. But if there's nothing to defend then I can't pull magic either.

Skizelli5994d ago (Edited 5994d ago )

You might as well ask the Sony fanboys as well. It's a two-way street. Always has been and always will be, sadly. I read PS3 news and see Sony fans are usually the first to trash talk the 360 before a 360 fanboy says anything. It just proves my point that there's moronic fanboys on either side. People act like their purchase justifies their own worth. If others don't like it, it's like a personal attack on them. It's pathetic. Games are and always will be about having fun. Enjoy what you have and stop being emo.

EDIT: If you're going to disagree, at least give me an educated response as to why. Limps claims to be a PS3 defender and not a 360 attacker, yet he just contradicted himself by basically making 360 fans out to be the bullies and Sony fans the victims. Not so. And sorry, but simply defending a console won't get you ignored by 60 users. You trash talk the 360 all the time.

My only point here is that fanboys exist on both sides. To target one side is pretty fanboyish of you. Love the PS3 (or 360) all you want. There's nothing wrong with enjoying what you have. But don't give Sony fanboys special treatment when they cause just as much trouble as 360 fanboys. All you delusional fanboys can cry more and disagree all you want. I'm being totally unbiased here - something you wouldn't understand.

Gamespot-equals-EGM5994d ago

I posted this a week or two ago but its worth re-posting (several more times to be frank). Fanboyism is natural. I'm not saying its good, its just natural. Its pretty much in our genes. Its called Cognitive Dissonance, the New York Times had a good article on this a few weeks ago.

http://www.nytimes.com/2007...

Also fanboyism isn't restricted to videogamers. It happens when people buy cars, HDTV's and other products.

jorellpogi5994d ago

I completely agree with your statements. N4G is a better place if we could just be civil with one another. Rabid fanboyism must be eradicated.

Gamespot-equals-EGM5994d ago (Edited 5994d ago )

Are you an idiot? Have fun wasting your time and energy trying to eradicate fanboyism.

While you're at it, please try to rid the world of hunger and make sure everyone is well fed. Also, please stop violence and end all wars.

My point is some things are inherently part of human psychology. And fanboyism (aka Cognitive Dissonance) is one of them. Read my post in 5.2.

Skizelli5994d ago

And just because it's in our genes doesn't make it acceptable behavior. We can still learn to be courteous to others and keep an open mind to new things.

Gamespot-equals-EGM5994d ago

If you don't find it acceptable then leave, simple as that.

If you don't leave and just complain about fanboyism then its like watching a UFC fight and then complaining its too violent. Or going to an NFL game and complaining because fans of the other team are being mean to your team.

If you don't leave then that's pure idiocy on your part.

EKWB reportedly plagued with financial disarray many gaming pc's left without parts

EK Cooling allegedly has slipped itself into a hot soup of seemingly endless financial woes, where it has not paid its staff, suppliers, and contractors for many months as the company is facing liquidity problems and a surplus of inventory left unsold, stuck in the warehouse for a more extended period. Gamers Nexus investigated these claims made by former and current personnel, where he found trails of unpaid bills lasting as long as three to four months and unpaid raises that accumulated for almost a year.

EK Water Blocks has two entities—a Slovenian-based headquarters and a US-based subsidiary, EK Cooling Solutions. Steve narrated the series of events in detail, stating that the company was reportedly irresponsible and negligent regarding payment. Consequently, partners and employees are forced to share the burden of alleged mismanagement. It all begins with its extensive range of products, leading to a surplus of goods. EK has over 230 water blocks, 40 liquid cooling kits, 85 reservoirs, 40 pumps, 73 radiators, and 212 miscellaneous accessories.

Yes this is not about video games directly but indirectly this will impact the pc gaming/workstation space hard.

This company is massive one of two in the water cool space so if it goes poof then thousands out there have no spare parts or half built computers.

SO yeah i know not about a video game but think of it as amd leaving the pc space but this is ekwb that could be leaving water cooling in the pc space

Jayz2cents a supporter of there products also has issues

As someone that has built a watercooling rig. EK is big, but there's so many numerous watercooling part companies out there. EK's stuff isn't exactly amazing quality for the price compared to others either, it's just ok. Much like Corsair. The impact would be negligible long term. For perspective the majority of my parts are XSPC, at most I use EK for my gpu waterblocks and fittings. Both easily replaceable.
