"Nathan Drake returns with some new tricks up his sleeve" - Karl Koebke
Excellent review. I agree that the game isn't quite as good as Uncharted 2, but it's still brilliant.
very fair review! I do think it was 'better' than uncharted 2, but it's lack of relative growth makes it a touch of a disappointment.
I think it's better than Uncharted 2 in terms of dynamics.. if that makes sense. For example the cargo plane scene starts off as a stealth mission and ends with you hanging for dear life out the back of a plane. But Uncharted 2 had snow...I like snow.. Oh and my personal overall ranking: 2>=3>1
Very fair comments from the two above. For me I would rank the games: UC2, followed very closely by UC3, then UC1 edit: first two comments, didn't read Iorianguy's post before posting.
I would, probably, rank them in reverse release order... 3>2>1 HOWEVER, this may just be because 3 is the new, shiney game... however, I found the single player to be more enjoyable first time around and I think the co-op is improved, even though it uses the same basic idea.
I have the same order ( 3>2>1 ). And I don't think I have that shiny new game feeling. I personally think this MP delivers one that feels like it delivers it's own custom nuances to the TPS genre; whereas UC2's MP only felt unique because of the gameplay the first was founded upon.
I feel like this one is a (small) step back from two. I don't like the multiplayer changes (unbalanced multiplayer for people who play longer cause of unlocks) and the singleplayer feels too loose. Aiming is really odd in this one.
I've yet to play it fully, but it's still great to see my boys over @ VG giving fair reviews - as usual!
This site kind of lost it's credibility awhile ago with the Gillette/Sony promotion scandal that went down. Where a higher up in the company told the writers at the site to not publish negative articles for a few days on games involved in the add campaign promotion. Yes it's 'light' but it is still manipulation. I used to visit this site a lot. I'm not saying that there's evidence corruption was involved in this review, I'm just saying when a guy running a site participates in shady stuff like that there's really no easy way to regain credibility. If he's willing to do one thing, how long till he does another? However it is fair to point out they're probably not the only ones doing it, they just got caught because of former angry employees that believed they weren't being paid enough.
