Nyleveia take a look in to the sometimes seedy, often greedy games media industry
A nice little read.
Since I started doing game reviews and working with various publishers around the world a few years back I've often found myself almost horrified by what I've encountered. The biggest problem I've seen is websites granting high scores simply to ensure they keep getting games to review from the publishers.
Worse is the black art of getting black listed because of review, article or news piece. EA, for example, simply won't even look in my direction. of course calling their launch of Battlefield 3 botched hasn't helped :D
the best reviewer ive ever encountered (and trust to some extent), is Zero Punctuation. Although he probably is blacklisted by every single developer. He criticizes games so much that even a AAA title will run and cry for its mommy. :P and if he praises a feature or the game (which hardly ever happens) you know its GOOD. Ohye and even if his website had ads from a game he'll still criticize it
