"I never liked sandboxes as a kid: the sand got everywhere, I was never any good at sand castles, and every hole I burrowed only achieved to surface cat turds and bird carcasses long thought lost to society. Until recently these memories lay happily dormant in the depths of my brain, but as I played more and more through Techland’s first person zombie sprawl, Dead Island, my annoyance at sandboxes once again awoke inside me – but I’ll get to that later."
We might be in the age of remasters, but it doesn't look like the Dead Island 2 devs believe remaking the original game is the right move for the series.
but remakes require far less effort for these companies and they can still charge $70 for them!
Feel like everyone makes fun of Skyrim re-releasing like 18 times yet applaud these remasters elsewhere. Would much prefer NEW games
Making sequels really is the way to go. Otherwise we'll be stuck playing only the first entry, forever!!!
Josiah Motley of KnowTechie writes: "I love video game trailers. While I don’t believe they are an integral part of a game’s success (especially these days), there’s something about a well-produced trailer that really just reminds me why I like video games."
It’s the music. It’s perfect. I agree with this for sure, it is well choreographed….unfortunately the game didn’t live up to the trailer.
Have you ever seen any of the MGS 3 or MGS 4 trailers? Those blow this out of the water for me.
Kevin F. from Link Cable Gaming writes: "Many of the best Xbox 360 games are playable on the Xbox One and Series X|S consoles. Some even with some enhanced visuals and performance. Unfortunately, not every game from the Xbox 360 library has received this glorious feat of being able to be played on more modern Microsoft consoles."
The Spider-man games will never happen. The xbox 360 Marvel Ultimate Alliance games have a better chance of happening than Spider-man titles but won't happen. The Xbox One Ultimate Alliance games delisted years ago
Yeah... you can totally forget about those entries that got delisted because of licensing issues. Those are not happening.
This game was fun for the first hour or so, but it just dragged on after that. I hated how you couldn't interact with anything in the environment. Don't even get me started with those escort missions. I think I heard, "My resurrected brattahs are great warriahs" about a thousand times.
I got to the Lab and just decided to stop. I realised i'd seen everything the game had to offer after about 5 hours.
I think the game was great, it wasn't perfect but what sandbox games are?
Driving was annoying in this game, it was the largest flaw imo.
I enjoyed everything else, what do you think people would be doing on an island overrun by a zombie infestation, they would be hiding in bunkers and anywhere they could find, and anyone willing to venture out would reap some type of reward for getting things for people..
Survival is what this game was about and it hit it on the head, can you get this for me because this happened..
The combat was very fun, making new weapons was a blast and the list goes on, i'd give the game a solid 8/10 it does have some tech flaws and the DLC should have been out already.
I have to agree with what most other people are saying here. When I first played the game I was surprised by how much fun it was but after playing a few hours I just couldn't bring myself to put the disc back in my PS3. Not that I started hating it or anything, I just found myself always choosing to do or play something else.
The game was dragged down by freezes, bugs and other glitches.
Not to mention the one of the most lackluster endings i've see...(besides Dark Souls)
This game deserves a 6 not 5.5
