IGN: Alternative View: GTA V: Let's Not Get Silly

Keza MacDonald: Here's an admission that I don't often like to make: until Grand Theft Auto IV, I wasn't much of a GTA fan. It's not that I didn't appreciate the brilliance and scope of the games themselves: it was the tone that I didn't get along with. I'm the kind of gamer that stops at red lights. Running over pedestrians and causing creatively violent mayhem – two mainstays of the GTA mould of open-world game – aren't things that hold much appeal for me. I mean, I even feel bad when I cap someone in an FPS. (Unless they're a Nazi.)

I don't think the author has to worry too much. Going from the trailer, it seems as if R* is going for a balance between maturity and fun.
