so happy about this, i just got it. And i almost bought the 4gb for the same bonus lol

for these stores to offer credits and gift cards than it is for MS to just officially lower the price. That way the credit you are getting you are more inclined to spend at the same store instead of walking away with your $50 less 360 in hand and go buy games elsewhere.

Then again, this isnt so much a MS controlled thing other than releasing the bundles. The stores are creating the incentives to entice shoppers. Keeping the system at the same price...the war now shifts to store deals.

This is an artificial price lowering, that both MS and Sony with their retail partners has been doing for some time. Wonder why Nintendo isn't doing this?

Either way, this deal compared to the Kinect 4GB console bundle is by far a much better deal, but it's still $400 you are spending.

I can't believe these consoles are still so expensive after all these years.

A_Troll_From_Ign2176d ago

You go buy a pc with windows os in that can match what a console can do for £180. Imposible.

ftwrthtx2176d ago

My son has the 4GB version and Battlefield looks awful. I thought he fired up his PS2 when he was playing.

I may have to pick this deal up for myself.

darthv722176d ago (Edited 2176d ago )

To say it looks like a ps2 would be wrong. At worst it would look like an xbox game considering the xbox was graphically better than the ps2 and is the absolute bare minimum any 360 game would look like.

Nice attempt at downplaying the 4gb model though. If you do have one then we both know your comment is purely a means to get some attention. Just like I just gave you.

@nycre... I wont dispute that. But the game looks and plays fine on the 4gb unit. Yes it looks much better with the texture pack but it isnt PS2 level graphics that people are proclaiming.

Just trying to put things into the correct perspective. Imagine if MS never had made the 4gb unit. The game would still be playable on old school core/arcade units and I bet there are people out there that are doing so.

nycredude2176d ago

Bro the 4gb is weaksauce. get over it. My cell phone has 32 gb man. they have calculators with more memory than 4gb.

ftwrthtx2176d ago

It honestly looks like a PS2 game as being played on a PS3 with backwards compatibility IMO.

The 4GB model isn't for hardcore gamers. It's for the casual gamer. No need for me to downplay a model that MS downplayed from the beginning.

How is his opinion of a game he's seen running on his hardware be "wrong"?

Wait...it's b/c you don't agree. Ok, I got it.

darthv722176d ago

I didnt say his opinion is wrong. I said the comparative is wrong. Using the original xbox as the comparative is more logical. Then again, I dont know if he has an xbox.

There are more people with ps2's than xbox's so it may be all he has to use.

yesmynameissumo2176d ago

@darth
Then I agree with you. The comparative is a stretch, but if he only has a PS2 to compare to, I don't feel his opinion is wrong.

You should complain to EA, because other games have no issues being installed to internal flash memory or usb devices.

That is a developer issue, not MS unfortunately.

That said, BF3 is a bugfest so I don't expect any polish what so ever anyhow which explains that weird behavior.

ftwrthtx2176d ago

I agree with you and I don't understand why they didn't allow it to be installed to the internal flash drive. I emailed EA a couple days ago in regards to it but haven't got an official response yet.

yesmynameissumo2176d ago (Edited 2176d ago )

@gamingdroid Halo Reach can't be be played co-op on a 4GB console to this day. It requires a HDD. It most certainly is a MS issue, probably locking down the 4GB to force you to buy a HDD.

Death2176d ago (Edited 2176d ago )

Can the texture pack install to a thumb drive? You can use a USB flash drive as a HDD on the 360. I believe it is up to 2 16 gig drives at a time, but I may be mistaken.

darthv722176d ago

there are plenty saying you cant. I dont see why. I have a few live games on my 4gb usb thumbdrive. Maybe the different there is the games I have are from xbla instead of retail releases.

MS could have some flag in the game that says yes or no to the storage device. All in all, there are loads of the old 20, 60 and 120gb 360 hdd's on the internet. One of those will work just fine and it is seen as a genuine MS hdd. There is even a 3rd party drive caddy to put it in if people dont want the drives just floating in the system.

ftwrthtx2176d ago

Can not be used on a thumb drive. Has to be the internal hard drive.

Dlacy13g2176d ago

I believe that is the wrong box art on this article. This is not a "kinect" bundle...
