Nintendo Universe writes: I'm not quite sure of the direction on this one, but Nintendo of America have today released a 'Look Back' commercial that is to be used to promote The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword.
It feels like they're trying to sell this game to people who played the original title, and now have kids of their own.
The concept is sound, the execution is really poorly handled.
100 percent agreed, I don't see this advert working very well at all, it barely shows any gameplay to make up for it either.
I thought it was cool. That's pretty much how it is for a lot of us.
This looks like a 90s commercial
Reminds me of those 1980's Intellivison commercials.
This commercial makes me feel old. :(
This ad makes me feel not so old!! lol I mean I didn't have facial hair when played for the first time OoT!!
I don't think I did either. I am going to be 30 in a couple months though. I also have an 8 year old son who is going to be watching me play Skyward Sword just like in the commercial. LOL
I hope that this does not end up being the main commercial for Skyward Sword. I know that this is the 25th anniversary, but that commercial looks like it belongs in a 1980's sitcom. I prefer my nostalgia in the actual game, and not in the commercial. It just screams "out of touch".
I think zelda deserves a better commercial...
Lucky bastard. Got to play Slyward Sword
What a jerk, making his kid stand there watching him play.
That was really bizarre.
Not the best commercial, but at least it shows that you can play it sitting down. A lot of message boards were worried about that.
Strange choice to target the audience that will already be buying this game- those who grew up playing Zelda. They need to be targeting mothers looking for Christmas presents. Any gamer over 20 should be buying this without the need for advertisements as far as I'm concerned.
