EVE Online developer CCP CEO Hilmar Petursson admits at first the backlash from their community was "disregarded" as just a vocal minority; as "some noise in the channel".
However the space loving studio learnt that it was "something that was really emotionally important," and reminded them how "really connected" people in EVE Online are.

This guy comes across as a complete and total arrogant tosser. What he's basically saying is that he dismissed people's complaints initially because he didn't care but now that it's effecting them financially they'll do a complete u-turn.
Can use fancy false heartfelt words such as "emotionally important" and go on to talk big about how connected Eve people are but lets be honest, they only care because money talks. While it's great that they've decided to focus on what the fans want, the damage will leave a bitter taste and shows how much the developers really care about their fans.
