Industry will crush all records, says analyst

As US retailers shift into high gear the day after Thanksgiving, Wedbush Morgan Securities analyst Michael Pachter is expecting impressive results.
"The industry will crush all records," he told GamesIndustry.biz. "Hardware should be up 15 per cent over last year, and software around the same."
While noting the positive effect of recent price cuts, Pachter nevertheless expects Nintendo to remain the hardware sales leader.
"I think the Nintendo DS will sell the most units, followed by the Wii," he said.

really going out on a limb on that one. how much do these "analysts" get paid, because i'm sure i could do a bang-up job.

**ahem**

christmas will occur on december 25th, which is when most of these consoles will be given as gifts.
games will sell very well, especially games like mario and halo.
i predict a huge number of the ps3's that are bought in north america will be black.
i also predict a huge number of the wii's will be white.
the 360 is a little less clear.

Of course the industry will crush all records. It is slowing shedding it's stigma in society and becoming a mainstream for of entertainment much like movies.
