3 truths about Battlefield 3

The Gamer Sheep website has posted three things it feels are true about Battlefield 3. Those include that it doesn't matter that the single-player campaign is "standard" or that the multiplayer is ripped straight out of Battlefield Bad Company 2. It's still a good game.

2. Great Graphics
3. Great Game

dirthurts2157d ago

You forgot great audio.
Doesn't anyone care about audio anymore?

TheShow172157d ago

I definitely think it's a huge selling point.

Pintheshadows2156d ago

Does it still have wartapes?

Spitfire_Riggz2156d ago (Edited 2156d ago )

Oh my god audio is so amazing in this game.

EVERYONE SET AUDIO SETTING TO WARTAPES

crawling through the rubble hearing rockets whistle past your head and crumbling rock makes you feel like your in a real war

edit: come to think of it, i have no idea why war tapes is not the default option!

1. Campaign sucks
2. DICE managed to make the game look like one from the PS2 era if you don't install the texture pack on the 360 :p
3. The MP is where all the fun is at

BraveToaster2156d ago

"2. DICE managed to make the game look like one from the PS2 era if you don't install the texture pack on the 360 :p :
Who plays on consoles?

Iroquois_Pliskin2156d ago

probably 5 million people if you count the sales on consoles

Hicken2156d ago

1. No, it's just not exceptional.
2. You might want to blame that on hardware limitations, not on the developers.
3. If this is true, then it negates your first point because your first point is irrelevant.

"It’s also essentially made up of bits and piece taken from previous Call of Duties."

I don't recall ever riding shotgun in a jet in any COD games. Or driving and fully controlling a tank through the desert. What COD was that? The single player in BF3 is gravely underrated. It really picks up after Operation Guillotine which imo was the most boring mission.

"The majority of us don’t care about teamwork"

Speak for yourself. For me that's always been the best part of Battlefield, and what sets it apart from the braindead k/d oriented shooters.

"The first thing I noticed about the BF3 multiplayer is that it bares a striking resemblance to Battlefield Bad Company 2. It has the same modes, many of the same vehicles, and similarly massive maps."

Can't you say that about almost any FPS sequel this gen? Unlike many other FPS multiplayer games BF 3 brings all new maps that are bigger, better and more balanced than anything out there. Shouldn't you be bashing other FPS games for NOT having vehicles or enough new maps instead of bashing BF3 for it?

"Remove from your brain that this game is somehow a COD killer or that it does stuff never seen before in the genre."

Then I would be lying to myself.

***I don't recall ever riding shotgun in a jet in any COD games. Or driving and fully controlling a tank through the desert. What COD was that?***

They said, borrow "bits" and "pieces" so not all of it obviously. Even the control scheme is essentially lifted of CoD.

The mission, Night Fall, was what made the BF3 bareable and it is very similar to "All Ghillied Up" in CoD4:MW. Just not as good....

So yes, there is definitely borrowed pieces from CoD and I expected as much.

I wouldn't say more balanced than anything out there.... Also, some games don't focus or have a need for it. It's like complaining why we dont' have laser weapons, because Halo has it.

Just read the review of Eurogamer and here's a snapshot for you.

If imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, then the folks at Infinity Ward and Treyarch must be feeling pretty special right now. In retooling DICE's military multiplayer favourite as a direct competitor to reigning heavyweight champ Call of Duty, EA has constructed a package that echoes its rival in so many ways it's downright eerie. If Call of Duty is Bridget Fonda, then Battlefield just became Jennifer Jason Leigh.

And
"The majority of us don’t care about teamwork"

in XBL, everyone is doing his own thing, running around like headless chicken.

PirateThom2156d ago

The game just launched, you'll have the CoD kiddies running about for a few weeks. All big FPS games suffer thsi before they go back to CoD and the userbase stabalises.

I joined in on BC2 quite late and it was all teamwork all the time.
