I was first introduced to Battlefield 1942 when it first came out in 2002, through some of my friends. We would stay up and fight until morning or at least until we passed out. I remember this period of time when WWII shooters were becoming over saturated, but DICE stepped up and delivered a unique experience that even today, cannot be matched. When Battlefield 2 came out a few years later, I logged hundreds of hours into it, and I consider it one of my favorite games of the last generation. When Battlefield 3 was announced, I was giddy with anticipation.
