Grand Theft Auto V, Do We Really Need It?

Trendygamers: Now, I know that a lot of you will disagree with that headline. The Grand Theft Auto franchise is one of the biggest ones in the videogame world today. Its open world gameplay mixed with the ability to do just about anything really resonates with gamers because it gives us a chance to live out our fantasies. Even I was a little giddy when GTA V was announced but do we really need it?

Yeah umm... it's R* North an GTA we need it. Besides I have friend who has seen GTA V and believe me you might not believe it but GTA V is going to shock a lot of people. Way different from past GTA's in gameplay mechanics, animations basically everything trust me you won't see this one coming.

Oooh, can't wait for that feeling of awesomeness from watching the debut GTA IV trailer all over again...And the months of anticipation. The only downside is that it has slightly diluted my anticipation for Battlefield 3 (not out til Friday in Ireland)

This article is stupid. Games like GTA, Elder Scrolls, and Zelda don't come out very option and when they do come out, they are highly rated and GOTY material. So yes, we do need another one. Now, games like Call of Duty and Assasin's Creed, I wish they stop releasing them every year. Both of those franchises will suffer the same faith as Guitar Heroes and Tony Hawk. Maybe not now but eventually.

I have not been a GTA fan since GTAIII at all but it's a system seller no doubt. When Microsoft was able to pull the GTA series from what had been a powerhouse for PS2 it did a lot for their brand.

The fact is that Nintendo has a few long standing franchises that we all grew up on and love but no quality third party support and haven't since Rare during the N64 days. Sony has exclusives like Uncharted and God of War while Microsoft has Gears and Halo along with huge third party support (Bioshock, Dead Space, Grand Theft Auto, Mass Effect, Red Dead Redemption, Fallout, Skyrim, etc...)

With a large graphical and gameplay overhaul, it could be amazing. With that said, i don't want a wash and repeat of the last two with a slight upgrade in graphics.
