Sony has revealed that the PlayStation Vita will only be able to save on a single medium, with choices being limited to the game card or a separate memory card, but not both.
Sony has recruited Bungie's head of revenue Jaremy Rich to head up its live-service gaming division, Rich has announced on social media.
Please do not put Destiny’s monetization into Sony’s first party games. The monetization is what’s driving players away from Destiny.
I mean, this person made some pretty bad decisions at Bungie. I hope they've learned from them because I definitely don't see those type of ideas as good for PlaySation in general.
Ps5 gamers in 2023 seemed to play more live service types of games, so regardless to how people feel about them, numbers don’t lie and Sony is going where the money is. I mean look at the excitement around Helldivers2, people are showing that they want live service games.
How do you kill a franchise that already been killed?
Destiny’s grind, cash-in-on-playbass-cha-Ching, and pop-culture-insertion mainstream-me-too bs totally killed any rep Bungie had. Sony/Bungie, if you are doing this to ward-off players, it’s already working.
Sony has patented to add multiple dialogue modes to let players switch between how many conversations with NPCs they want in the game.
Sony is like the only ones outta the 3 that has atuff like like this pop up changing thing in ways.
Genuine Enabling Technology was seeking damages, claiming the tech allowing PlayStation consoles and controllers to communicate infringes its rights.
Sounds like patent trolling they tried the same thing against Nintendo with the same pattern.
Motion and control input traversing over higher and lower frequencies seperate from each other allowing the controller to do both
So to recoup the money Genuine is going to take on Nintendo or Microsoft next. I hate patent lawyers they are some of the worst bottom feeders out there.
you can only save to one location. only hope there's a SAVE AS command as well...
as it's up to the devs, so blame them if they don't offer that option...
I brought games from the PSN store, Sony said you download them to the Vita hope you can, that's why i put down on one. I need to be able to save on both.
"Vita will only be able to save on a single medium, with choices being limited to the game card or a separate memory card, but not both"
"stated that games which save internally will not offer the option of saving to an external medium"
So a game might be saved on the game card, a proprietary storagecard or INTERNALLY now?
I though you couldnt store shit Internally and that the internal space was for the OS and major apps/extra features etc only.
I guess they ment was *internally* on the gamecard.
That sounds dumb. How hard is it to offer the option to decide to which medium you want to save?
Better than have messages popping everytime I save.
1. Where are you going to save your progress?
2. Memory Card or Game Cartridge?
3. Answer where you want it to...you decided to save in your memory card.
4. You clicked game cartridge instead, you yelled "damm*t!"
5. Goes back to the menu.
6. Repeat the steps until you get it done right.
F*ck no!
If you want this not to happen, like this post.
