Sony has revealed that the PlayStation Vita will only be able to save on a single medium, with choices being limited to the game card or a separate memory card, but not both.
you can only save to one location. only hope there's a SAVE AS command as well... as it's up to the devs, so blame them if they don't offer that option...
I brought games from the PSN store, Sony said you download them to the Vita hope you can, that's why i put down on one. I need to be able to save on both.
"Vita will only be able to save on a single medium, with choices being limited to the game card or a separate memory card, but not both" "stated that games which save internally will not offer the option of saving to an external medium" So a game might be saved on the game card, a proprietary storagecard or INTERNALLY now? I though you couldnt store shit Internally and that the internal space was for the OS and major apps/extra features etc only. I guess they ment was *internally* on the gamecard.
That sounds dumb. How hard is it to offer the option to decide to which medium you want to save?
Better than have messages popping everytime I save. 1. Where are you going to save your progress? 2. Memory Card or Game Cartridge? 3. Answer where you want it to...you decided to save in your memory card. 4. You clicked game cartridge instead, you yelled "damm*t!" 5. Goes back to the menu. 6. Repeat the steps until you get it done right. F*ck no! If you want this not to happen, like this post.
But you wouldn't have to see that message every time. Think of Microsoft Word. When you first save a document, it asks you where you want to save. After that, every time you press 'save' it will automatically save to that default location without asking you where you want to save it.
to all trolls the gba/ds has been saving on carts only internally for years if you sold your game you lose your save/s, at least we still get an option of external/internal
Sony's making less an Less of a reason to Hack this machine for "Home Brew" trying to keep the Hacker's from doing the following No battery hack No flash card Hack Game will not boot up without the game card inside One of the four A9 cpu's cannot be used by the developer's while thus keeping key areas harder to exploit. Also: An by makeing the Playstation Suite SDK for indie developers an Homebrew developer's so Android OS based Apps an Games can also run on the PSVita = no real reason to have the system Hacked unless your there to steal applications. the Hardware is standard Four core Arm core A9's with off the shelf Standard four core off the shelf GPU, which developer's can use to make games for the system Via development kits or through a PSVita sim. system on the PC. but..but..we did it for Homebrew..lol well Home brew away..the tool chains are standard an well established. you have access to the GPU this time..So No there is really no excuse to hack it.
Read the article again, we don't get an option, it's up to the developer: "Speaking with Kotaku Japan,Sony stated that games which save internally will not offer the option of saving to an external medium, and that it will be up to the developer which of the two their titles will utiize." But how hard would it be to give the player an option on where to save?
lol @ disagree
Mandatory memory cards should be a thing of the past at this point. Sony really should have put a harddrive in the Vita, even if it was only 20 gigs. They'll probably do that for future versions of the Vita though.
