Rocksteady Studios have done an excellent job on Batman: Arkham Asylum; so much so, that it was touted as the best Batman game ever made, and one of the best games of the current console generation.
Uncharted 3 is going to be a great game, and it's good to see Rocksteady has appreciated the work ND has done.
Hopefully ND feel the same way... One will probably be GOTY... Meta: UC3 94 Batman 95 Wow, just wow.
Batman as multiplatform GOTY and UC3 and PS3 GOTY. I see nothing wrong with that. Now what to pick for 360 and wii GOTY's? Maybe Gears 3 and Skyward Sword respectably?
and both along with God Of War 3/infamous 2/MGS4 are my top 5 games this gen
Add Gears3 and Forza4 (drop inFamous) and I agree......
I hope Rocksteady get started on Arkham City successor.
Yeah, but I hope it's on the next generation. I'm so ready for a PS4/720. Will be amazing when they finally drop. And yeah, Uncharted 3 is shaping up to be the best game this year. I can't believe how gorgeous it looks.
I think they already have. And it looks like it's going to be in Gotham! Well I think it's going to be in Gotham. A certain easter egg in Arkham City suggests that. http://www.youtube.com/watc... Batman:City of Terror?
make it so big that the use of the batwing or batmobile will be needed to get around town.
Rocksteady is a gem of a studio.
Seem like all the developer want the next gen already. And that was probably the best batman sequel for this gen..so they praise ND,awesome!
Well it's nice to see them getting along.
Example setters. It's great to see this, for sure.
It's a fairly good attitude for a studio like Rocksteady to take. "See what they release and we'll build something for it to the best of our ability." Much better than some of the Dev comments I've seen over the last few months.
That's the difference between humble, quality studios, and developers who've gotten full of themselves over past success.
ND is one of the all time greats in my books since the first time i played Crash Bandicoot. They have done amazingly well this gen and i know for damn sure they are going to max the PS4 to its fullest potential. Rocksteady have really cemented themselves as the one of the best developers this gen and i want to see them raise the bar more with a new batman game and superman game too.
One part of me says that sony should buy them out and another says that they should stay multiplat. They make such great games that as much people as possible should experience them.
I was just thinking that sony should buy rocksteady but its not for the purpose of fueling a console war. I just think that companies like rocksteady would be great for revitalizing some of the Sony Pictures movies/characters. Rocksteady made an excellent batman game twice that was not tied to a movie but has movie or mini movie or even anime potential. Rocksteady could be a lead sony pictures game developer. microsoft and other game publishers don't have that type of movie library to build off of. Only other publisher i can think of that coul dreally use rockstead is warner bros for their own movie and character library.
Pretty sure Warner Bros. already own them. and apparently Square Enix still own like 25% of them.
not ready for next gen. Just like rocksteady says they work with the tools they have the same can be done with current ps3/360 engines. We would have no arkham asylum or arkham city if they waited for stronger consoles and next gen tools. Just because uncharted 3 is a huge hit, doesnt mean ps3 cant pump out dozens of more games using the uncharted, warkawhk, god of war, killzone etc engines.. While i understand the memory limitations etc.. All I can say is plenty of older pc's run current games well on low settings. And when you see games like uncharted 3 and other games this year, its proof that there is more that can be done. All batman is is unreal engine 3 which many have said is outdated and boring and is ready for a leap into the next gen. If that's the case how is it that rocksteady managed to squeeze gallons of blood from that UE3 stone?
Lol! People greatly underestimate how strong these consoles are and how well they are able to keep up with these Mega Pc's is just mind blowing! Games like GOW3, GEARS3 UNCHARTED 3 prove just how competent and capable they are. Next gen consoles aren't needed for these 2 HD consoles... It why the Wii is now going HD!
Hmm.. you guys are missing the point here. Yes, those games look great (and amazing), but as in technical point of view they aren't "that" special. Hack and slash with locked camera-angles and scripted events, tube run. Uncharted 3, looks phenomenal, but again, scripted tube run. GoW3, same thing... When you look at games like for example Battlefield 3, that have tons of s**t going on at same time, not scripted, you understand where the current gen is lacking when compared to PC's.. Not saying I'm dumbing them down, there keeps coming more and more AAA games all the time. Just saying that those "examples" aren't proof of consoles keeping up, they just proof that they can have amazing games, with limitations..
@Kahvipannu Battlefield 3 is scripted just as much as any other game. Wow, some people can really ride that hype train eh?
@ Kahvipannu Have you played killzone 2 and 3 or any of the uncharted games? Console wise these games have more stuff running in the background during gameplay, not just in single player but in multiplayer as well. Killzone has machines runnings, lighting effects all over the place, dust particles, smoke all while playing online. Uncharted has moving environments and weather/lighting. It can be done. But the problem is having to make it equal. if you were to make battlefield 3 unique to the strengths of each platform. well.. the pc can run a lot of gamers in one session. can the ps3 and 360? Zipper and Insomniac say yes. MAG ran 256 players per match and resistance had 60 player matches. Battlefield 3 visual quality? maybe not but then I bet those comparing the graphics have themselves said that graphics isnt the end all be all when it comes to making a good game.
