ZTGD | Deus Ex: Human Revolution – Missing Link Review

Michael Futter writes: Much to the delight of Deus Ex: Human Revolution fans, myself included, Square Enix announced downloadable story-driven content shortly after the game was released.

Missing Link fills in the blanks of Adam Jensen’s cryogenic transport near the end of the game. Unfortunately, it quickly becomes clear why this portion of the game was cut from the retail release. (Deus Ex: Human Revolution, Deus Ex: Human Revolution - The Missing Link, Xbox 360) 6.8/10

6.8 is unexceptable.
This is the lowest I have seen for a higher quality DLC than most DLC packs out there today. Check with you peers here on N4G.com. Because they may be planning to boycott your website over this. LOL

Either you have played it and you disagree, which is your right, or you have not played it and are simply going by other review scores.

If it is the former, then you need to pay attention to two things. First our review scale is clearly detailed on our website. In case you didn't actually go and read the review or look at our guidelines, I'll help you out:

6.0 – 6.9 (Decent)
These games are fun but still miss something that makes them stand out from the pack. These are the kinds of games you might want to either rent for the weekend or pickup on a sweet deal or trade-in.

For DLC, this translates to, "Wait for a price drop because while it isn't horrible, it isn't worth the price of admission."

Second, regardless of your personal opinion of the DLC, mine is one voice and one opinion. I supported my score with detailed concerns about the content. Again, had you read the review, you would see that.

Now, if you haven't actually played the DLC and are simply basing this off review scores, I invite you to visit Metacritic and check out some of the other reviews. Certainly, there are a number higher, but I am far from the lowest review score out there.

Narratively, many reviewers identified the same issues that I did: price was too high, backtracking, weak story, disjointed chronology.

You are welcome to your opinion (which you should probably form AFTER you play it). Regardless, my score is not unacceptable, which I believe is the word you meant to use. It's my opinion of the game.
