Yes, even videogame fans can go to extremes

Last Sunday, in Orange County's John Wayne Airport, Aleks Krotoski was sandwiched between a rack of untouched LA Galaxy jerseys and a host of Arnold Schwarzenegger-inspired "The Governator" merchandise, reading The Guide to Psycho Fan Behaviour.

Instead, I learned how to get my placard read on TV during half-time at an American football game. The ESPN-published handbook outlined all kinds of silly behaviour which, upon further reflection, wasn't too far off the culture I've been watching for almost a decade: the games industry.
