The Top 7...Disappointing games that deserve sequels

Big successes become popular franchises, we keep buying 'em because they keep getting better, and developers keep churning 'em out. I'm surprised that Haze isn't in this list.

It had a lot of potential & an interesting premise, and should have been a far better game.

Free Radical was bought over by Crytek, and renamed the company Crytek UK. So now they own the IP and have access to the Cryengine 3 (which would suit the jungle environment & the Nectar abilities down to the ground!)

Bring on Haze 2 & Timesplitters 4!

Yeah, I'd say Haze deserves another chance, but the FPS market is full of so many great games, so if it got a sequel, it better be epic... in a good way.

I'm trying to figure out how he could put it on this list in the first place. Does it deserve a sequel, hell yea. Was it disappointing? HELL NO! That game rocked! And was SEVERELY underrated, and under appreciated.

I can certainly agree with Brink and Homefront, both games had big potential but didnt quite deliver on it. For me Sniper Ghost: Warrior would be another pretty poor game that deserves a sequel, so luckily both it an Homefront are getting one.

Brink and Dead Island. Both have some cool aspects here and there, but I expected a lot more.

Brink without a doubt. I bought it on release and was impressed at first, then realised how little effort had gone into the development. It had some great concepts, but was poorly executed.

It had great characters to choose from and let you play as the bad guys.

Pretty sure I read Homefront was getting a sequel regardless of its reception....

Bioware should make the Alpha Protocol sequel if they ever got momentum going for it.

I got AP for ten pounds and really enjoyed it. I'd like to have a sequel. It had some good ideas.

All the fps's on that list though, I think we can do without.

The Homefront sequel has already been announced. Its in development by Crytek UK and due for release in THQ's 2014 financial year (April 2013-March 2014) on 'all major platforms'.

had its prob no doubt but i would def buy a sequel. if they could use the atmosphere, settings, characters, etc and make it play more like dark souls then i bet they would have a masterpiece in the making.....

I'm not convinced that Destiny deserves a chance when it was so awful and it's only quality being that it uses a more comtemporary x-men lore , as opposed to rehashing 90s stuff .

Even less convinced when they screw up said lore and can't even bother to pump out a game that would at least look pretty enough to fit the license .

i'm even less convinced that the game was rushed for the Xmen first class dvd release . They sh*t the game , because that's what activision does every year during october-nov : crapping out mediocre to average Marvel based games .

And please stop finding excuses for Silicon Knights . At least every other Marvel games from activision looked less crappy , despite the rushed dev cycle . Realisation wise , Spiderman shattered dimension even looks good enough .

These posts often makes me chuckle. You often see games that don't really have the biggest reason to continue on. A prime example would be Brink/Brutal Legends which dont even have a ton to expand upon. I would much rather see games that had ongoing stories completed and proper gameplay. This would be things like Mindjack.

Come on EA Give double fine another shot. Brutal Legend was awesome and just looked beautiful on my LCD. It is one of my favorite games. As a guy who sells back EVERY game i have ever owned this gen Brutal Legend is still the only surviver. Great story, funny, epic, engaging plus huge Jack Black and Rock fan. Sure the Game play could have used a lil tweaking but i loved the army style fighting. I loved hovering over the battlefield and then swooping down and doing a FACE MELTER!!!!!!! BOWOWOWOWOWOW.

yeah, not to mention a big part of why it failed was EA's non-existent marketing and the -god knows how high they were- decision of launching the same day as Uncharted 3.

Those guys were probably fired and found a job a Warner Bros, since Lord of the Rings War in the North is releasing the same day as Uncharted 3,lol Thats just begging for the game to fail....

I wouldn't want EA anywhere near that game, I love Brutal Legend and due to those selfish c***s at EA we never received the 1.03 patch. The 1.02 patch completely destroyed the game

I may not "want" them to have it, but sadly they own the IP so whatever it takes to have a sequal. But i agree with you about the patches. I erased my game save data and just use the game for the campaign.

Infinite Undiscovery. One of the best worlds with awesome lore and mythos. The combat was awesome, great story, and it had some of the best characters ever. It sold like crap and had some annoying bits like off lip syncs, horrible knockdowns, and when you died you had to wait for someone to revive you. The game had parts that made demons souls seem easy, got kind of frustrating. Still if you played it long enough to get to the second disk you saw some of the most beautiful places ever in a game. The maze-like forest with glowing rain falling around you was breathtaking.

I would looooooooooooooove a sequel to Brutal Legend. They could fix all the issues and just release the game it should have been in the first place.

Which is all I want. It would be one of the most perfect games! Hilariousness, killing emo kids, and Jack Black. Amazing stuff.

I loved both games, but for Brutal Legend I never liked the real time strategy parts at all.
