Have we entered the golden age of gaming?

Starting in late August with the release of Deus Ex, the gaming industry has consistently produced games of amazing quality. This trend will only continue in the coming months and probably end with Team Ico’s release of The Last Guardian.

nah,golden age of gaming was the ps2 era... This gen they introduced DLC among others... But the games this gen are excelent! i wont deny that.

Neo Geo, SNES, Genesis, Turbo GFX, PC, Arcade!

This was the Golden Age of Gaming!

This is the era of greed and stupidity as way too many AAA games are being released in the next 3 months while we suffered through a less than stellar summer release schedule.

and I'm sure most of these AAA titles have DLC on the disk already that we are gonna have to pay to play.

I think in terms of the games we have seen a leap in quality but as they have become a recognised form of entertainment greed and profiteering have crept in and creative games have fallen by the weyside somewhat. I will say this though, with new hardware to potential for future masterpieces is staggering. And as always I hope we don't see them coming.

Not hardly. I feel that, this year specifically, we have reached the golden age of "this generation" of gaming. But in an era ripe with DLC, accessibility, regenerative health, faulty hardware, buggy software, sequelitis, etc, this gen as a whole is anything BUT the golden age.
