Vita Was Never Designed to Be the PSP2

The PlayStation Vita was “never designed to be PSP2,” stated John Koller, SCEA’s director of hardware marketing, in a developer diary all about Sony’s new handheld. He goes on to talk about how Sony looked at “a really broad range of things,” with the Vita and that Sony “stopped talking about mobile and other portable devices.”

im happy with psv, i think it was for the best they moved away from the psp mindset

I agree. While many gamers might think it was a bad move to focus on more than just gaming, a portable device these days MUST be versatile. Franchise hate aside, COD on the PSV with cross game chat on the go is going to be a revolution. PSV is gonna be BIG; PS2 big.

PSP mainly focused solely on it s own tech. UMD, which never really went mainstream.

psp2 or psvita doesnt matter to me its a more powerfull handheld that happens to do things i think most of us are happy and excited for

How can they say that when it looks just like one except with a bigger screen, second analog stick, and a back-side touch pad?

i think you answered your own question btw it also has 3g, memory card instead of UMDs, social app, gps, cross game chat, two cameras and the list goes on, yes there similar but vita is it's own system. not just and updated psp.
