MP1st - "There are only two days left in your life without Battlefield 3, or perhaps more if living overseas. Either way, it’s almost here. For now, we have a look at the brand new server browser function on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3."

Awesome!! more games on console need a server list IMO

Criminal2313d ago

Dedicated servers make for a much better multiplayer experience. I hope Activision will wise up and implement them in the next cod.

da_2pacalypse2313d ago

They won't Activision is too cheap to do something like that.

anyways, this is an awesome feature, I never thought I'd see the day where a console game has a server browser option. Other companies take note!

Grip2313d ago

they should but they won't do it.

Calvin_ISA2313d ago

You must not have played Warhawk?

Outside_ofthe_Box2313d ago

All games should have ranked custom games with server browsers. There is no excuse not to have it. And I don't see why anyone would not want to have it.

Mister_V2313d ago

So nice to be able to choose region!

Ghoul2313d ago

this means clans can finally rent theyre own servers on consoles :)

no gimme custom server rules and i a happy chappy

darkgoon3r962313d ago

No it doesn't mean that, private matches will not be on the game on launch, and servers will only be hosted by EA on Battlefield 3 on consoles, so yea...

Ghoul2313d ago

i know

but THIS is what keeps a communit going,
unlock the servers further into its lifespan and people WILL adopt and continue the game.

this is the right direction thats all im saying not building any hype here

Custom server options are in! Hurray!

ajeben8092313d ago

It's actually quite impressive. Something console games have been missing for a while.

frostypants2313d ago

This is good. The absence of server browsers in ANY online game is inexcusable IMHO. I hope Activision got off their arse and added this to MW3 as well.

terrordactyl2312d ago

It won't happen. Cod doesn't have servers, it is peer to peer.

Gameplay9992313d ago

Most definitely... I believe Frontlines: Fuel of War was when I entered the server browser experience being a console gamer only.

SkylineR2313d ago

Yeah it's great knowing that you can search by region so you don't get randomly put into a laggy game because you're in Australia and the host is in the US.

Heartnet2312d ago

Aye :) but their all copying socom confrontation 8-)

Criminal2313d ago

I really respect DICE; they have a hands-on approach when it comes to the community that many other dev houses should learn from.

ddurand12313d ago

this should be a requirement for all games.

A_Troll_From_Ign2313d ago

Both matchmaking and server browsing would be good in halo. Server browsing for custom games and matchmaking for ranked/playlist games. That's a good idea actually *lightbulb appears above head. :)

frostypants2313d ago

PC online games have done this kind of thing since the dawn of time. It's the main thing I miss when I play these games on consoles. Hopefully this sets a standard.

ddurand12313d ago

many games have done this before too.

hell, the original CS for xbox had this.

bozebo2313d ago (Edited 2313d ago )

I wonder if I can hack battlelog to let my PC version join servers for console gamers.... lolz

They probably use the same networking protocol and provide some kind of version ID... packet capture ftw.

Consoles have deserved dedicated servers for too long, P2P networking is just bad most of the time.

GroundsKeeperJimbo2313d ago

Looks pretty slick. :]

I'm very pleased they have the ping showing on the main browser. Also the filter options; it'll be like I have a PC again.
