bullsh*t i played that game at launch and had NO issues. i never glitched out through the campaign nothing. The online was fine ran well everybody is just a whiny bit*h.
They shouldn't even be commenting about PS3 architecture this far into this gen.
Just don't try and pass off 360 as PS3 gameplay footage & fool us into buying a potentially inferior console version.
Bethesda own iD now, so take a leaf out of their book, and release an console version that looks & performs great on both platforms. And actually show us PS3 gameplay prior to release, à la Rage.
The key is not to treat it like a PC or 360 DOH" thats were ive been going wrong its not the same style of cpu and ram. Oop's YLOD errr error command line code357 Need ring naughtydog for help dam engaged gurrilla games errr whats area code. oh god sucker punched
Undeadwolfy Thankyou for understanding my sense of humor ;)
Just to clarify what i was getting at was simple. Bethesda need to go back study how the ps3 cpu ram vga all work together instead of just lifting the hood.
I'm sure they'll get the maximum offered on both consoles. That they'll be equal may be another matter all together, but it won't be the developer's fault. Look at Rage. John Carmack is a legend in the developers world and Rage runs of the best it can on xbox and ps3. But the two aren't exactly equal according to digitalfoundary.
That's only true if you have an old 360. I have one from 2009, I can play it for hours and the fans never, NEVER even have to kick on full. I've never heard the fans of my 360! The newer 360's are even more stable.
My PS3...launch PS3 mind you, sounds like a small jet in a matter of minutes.
I don't know why Playstation don't give gamers the option to save our games onto our Hdds & play the game while the disk is in the drive.
If the 360 can do it successfully, I don't know why PS3 owners are restricted to playing the game off the Blu-ray.
It puts alot less strain on the drives laser, improves loading times and it quietens down the console during gameplay.
What's the point in having a 500GB Hdd in my PS3 and not being able to take advantage of it while gaming? Which is the PS3's primary function after all!
I hate when a dev comes out and says that PS3 is more difficult to develop for a wave of Sony Fanboys immediately attack that developers skill. The fact of the matter is the primary reason we hear this is because they are comparing development to the Xbox which is a completely different systems. This is then compounded by two facts:
1. This generation has seen the largest migration of historically PC only developers switch to console development, and these developers do not have previous experience with console development.
2. Microsoft worked with game developers and primarily PC developers to bring them into console development. Microsoft did a great job of working with developers for 2 years to design the Xbox360, and even had many revisions of the dev hardware in developers hands over a year before the release of the console. Game developers were making requests in every level of design of both the hardware and the development API/interface (XNA) for the Xbox360. Hell Epic cost Microsoft $1Billion dollars in design and build costs for the 360 by recommending a hardware change to upgrade the memory from 256MB to 512MB. Microsoft did everything they could to bring PC devs and by proxy new IP to the Xbox360 by having game developers integrated into every level of hardware/API design and implementation. Whereas Sony had a botched launch of the PS3 on nearly every level. The earliest game developers were give dev kits for the PS3 was 6 months before launch. Even Gaffe went on record noting Sony's failure to work with developers on designing and helping them understand the drastic hardware change to the cell architecture and sending out broken dev kits and unsupported, nonworking, undocumented API's that prevented developers from making quality games. Many 3rd party game devs came out with stories within 2 years of release stating they were having to work directly with Sony dev liaisons to have API's fixed and to get shit documented so they could disseminate the information to their team on how to architect a game around the Cell's memory management, which caused real headaches and led to many devs having to cut corners that hurt PS3 versions of multiplatform games. I know I am going to be down voted into oblivion but I believe Sony is completely at fault when developers publicly speak about development headaches on the PS3.
Now I'm gonna start by saying I love Sony and wud choose a ps3 over a 360 every time. But wat you say is mostly true. I think Sony has done wonders this gen with its games and ps3 I love it to bits. But the biggest mistake they made was the achriculture of ps3. Made things so much harder for themselves. I think next gen Sony need to make sure its allot easyer to develop for ps4
Other developers have shown what they're saying to be right, but it's true.....who are Bethesda to make such claims when they're recently released pathetic ports like New Vegas?
to be fair Bethesda has only released oblivion & F3 on ps3, F:NV was by obsidian & they basicly reused everything from F3. with Skyrim they got a new engine so maybe it will work better with the PS3 since Oblivion & Fallout 3 used the same engine & that didnt turn out too god on PS3
DICE mentioned earlier that if you develop for PS3 it will run well on Xbox and PC as well.
The PS3 has lots of CPU power, but you need to feed it with small jobs.
On PC you traditionally divide up your job in a few big threads - that wont work on a PS3... And it won't scale to CPUs with more cores than designed for.
But if you divide up your work in lots of small jobs - it will both work on PS3 and scale to more CPU cores...
It would be really interesting to know how many cores BF3 can make use of on PC...
It can scale to 8 cores apparently, and will probably be the first and only game this year where a bulldozer CPU will beat an Intel one. Even if it's just barely and then there is the fact that BF3 beta at least was actually quite light on the CPU, but that could change a bit with the full destruction and further optimisations on the final version.
As much as I like my PS3, this is one game that will defiantly be purchased on my Xbox... because I know it will run good on the Xbox... the PS3 on the other hand - well past experiences speak for themselves.
Why are you getting disagrees? Not only was Obliviion 720P on the PS3 (around 600P on the 360), it had a lot less poppins, way better draw distance and lighting.
Well I never had Oblivion on the PS3, I had it on Xbox... and I never really had an issue with it.
But I did have Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas on the PS3 & Xbox, and they ran horribly on the PS3. Considering they used they same engine as Oblivion I wasn't sure how it ran in comparison.
I know Skyrim has a completely new engine, but I don't have faith in them when it comes to them developing for the PS3...
Which 360 did it run poorly on? Do you realize that they actually lead production on 360? The PS3 version came way later a they did some nice tricks with the Bluray to help it run well. But the 360 version ran very well.
What Rush said. The PS3 version came out 1 year after the 360 version. SO it had a full year of tweaks and was made into the better version of the game.......or was it?? Yes granted it had better lighting and draw distance BUT with a price. The PS3 version suffered from frame rate drops more so than the 360 version. The PS3 superior version came with a heavy price!
Studios like "Naughty Dog", "Santa Monica Studio", "Guerilla Games", "Sucker Punch" & more have shown countless times already what exactly PS3 is capable to do, why PS3 is the console with the best hardware. The trick is obviously to "study" more the console else u wont be able to release it's full power, Naughty Dog admit that after 3 UC games they r sure that this time they top consoles power and use every last drop of juice the console could give, and it wont be possible to do a better looking game in PS3, can Mr.Carmack say the same? or maybe he didn't try hard enough.. ?
The thing is that while Naughty Dog only have to concentrate on one system ID have to make it work on 3 seperate systems, and even more to try and make it work as well as possible on the various pc setups there are.
It's very easy for someone to say 'Oh look at what Naughty Dog/Santa Monica Studio/Guerilla/Blah blah blah can do', but it's much harder for a dev to work on a multiplat game. There is only so much they can do, they have to get the game working as well as possible for all.
If ID only worked on ps3 I think they would be just as accomplished as those other studios in what they can achieve on one system. But they have more on their plate and limited resources to do what they can.
I think comments like 'or maybe he didn't try hard enough.. ? ' are small-minded, and quite ignorant.
EDIT: @PixL
'No, they don't have to. They chose to.'
No, they really do actually. Besides, they got my money and I got my moneys worth. Although I bought it on pc.
'Sony studios don't fail to deliver'
There's been plenty of Sony produced games that have had technical difficulties, and have also been lacklustre. They aren't godlike.
No, they don't have to. They chose to. They wanted my money but failed to deliver. Sony studios don't fail to deliver so they get my money. If you can't do your job properly, change your job. That's very simple and fair.
I dunno heard people did say they couldn't distinguish the Xbox from the PlayStation version. Saying they couldn't tell from the 360 gameplay to the PS3 gameplay so this could be a legit.
I remember this guy talking about how they mastered the PS3 back in 2008...then I played the PS3 version of Fallout 3. Not so good. 360 version was a lot better.
Anyways it's pathetic it took them this long to figure out that you can't treat the PS3's hardware architecture like the other gaming platforms hardware architectures lolz!
A billion patches later. It still isn't fixed.
Maybe ignoring problems actually fixes them.
Just don't try and pass off 360 as PS3 gameplay footage & fool us into buying a potentially inferior console version.

What so PS3 is a totally different system???? Bethesda just realised this????
Well done guys.
DOH" thats were ive been going wrong its not the same style of cpu and ram. Oop's YLOD errr error command line code357

LOL no not trying to hard i just talk alot. differnce its my personality i have a dry sense of humor wow really n4g.
Thankyou for understanding my sense of humor ;)
Just to clarify what i was getting at was simple.
Bethesda need to go back study how the ps3 cpu ram vga all work together instead of just lifting the hood.
But hey its ok its just me "trying too hard"
AND how your replies were complete run-on sentences lol.
Me thinks not.
Take more English classes maybe. Use periods.

On topic: I really hope so, it'd be nice for both versions to be equal in quality. Everybody wins.
i liked the story of the gamebut the gameplay sucks for me...

Rockstar did NOT develop LA Noire.

These guys can not do do games on the PS3 period.
They've already messed us up with the dlc now they're like oh yeah we're experts at the PS3. For shame, bethesda.
Nevertheless I'm looking forward to skyrim, but won't play it til they've released a few patches. That game will not be perfect.
Or more PR stuff however you take it.
Hopefully Skyrim doesn't have the issues that all the other Bethesda games have had at launch.
But we'll see. Huge, dense worlds = lots of room for error, so I'm usually forgiving.
"Go into the multiplayer menu then back to the main menu. RECALIBRATE EVERY FREKIN SETTING AGAIN.
A billion patches later. It still isn't fixed. "
Oh, crap!
P.S...other video added for fun enjoy everybody!
