IncGamers: However, Skyrim will still look better on a PC.
"IncGamers: However, Skyrim will still look better on a PC." Graphics on console are good enough for me and I only had to pay $200 for a used PS3.
agreed with fluffydelusions. i'm not a millionaire.
Yea cause you need to be to build a top quality computer -_- You get better performing games, and better looking games on the PC platform, and for the price of games today, I want the best experience possible. Bethesda games are known for horrible bugs and glitches in every single one of their games, and especially on consoles, they have drops in frame rate and lots of texture pop in. I don't feel like dealing with that crap if i'm paying so much for a game.
@iamironman i don't have millions and built my own rig to go along side my PS3/360....
It is expensive to have a high-end PC but you don't have to be a millionaire to have one. It's significantly cheaper if you build it yourself but still can be expensive compared to consoles. For me, it's not the price really but the hassle. I don't want to play around with the settings for a hour before starting a game on the PC just so I can get a little better frame-rate. Last time I got a new PC was when Crysis came out. I paid $1500 for the tower alone and even that couldn't run Crysis maxed out. I was pissed.
It's not about the money, but the brains.
i just bought 8 gigs of RAM for 35 bucks free shipping. Yup sure does cost an arm and a leg... and thats freaking overkill for pretty much every game.
@Ares84HU Last time I got a new PC was when Crysis came out. I paid $1500 for the tower alone and even that couldn't run Crysis maxed out. I was pissed. You got screwed over then. but i agree crysis is power hungury back then we didnt even have ultra settings untill few years or 2 later. Next time when you looking for someone to build you a pc set yourself a price keep to it look around for the right video card you want demand that in your system providing its not silly price. go to forums ask people opinion what to buy if you unsure. Best bet look at videos read books if you have to build yourself not hard and its rewarding for the first timer.
I never said it's hard to build a PC, it's just a hassle. To some might not be if they like to do it but I couldn't care less.
@Ares84HU I have never spent longer than a minute in my settings menu. But in reference to the issue with crysis. Even my 580 drops frame rate here and there. It's poor optimisation that is to blame not the PC. On Metro I regularly dip under 30 FPS due to bad optimisation. It's not really a hassle either, It took me about 5 hours to build mine and I had never built one before. I can respect if you wish not to do it. But there is no need to portray it as some sort of long and winding process when it isn't.
for the last time pc gaming is not more expensive than consoles. im actually writing an article with a cost analysis to prove it. You simply arent calculating the long term costs of owning a console and pretending like you are getting a better deal. Here is a hint: if you were, MS and Sony would be bankrupt b/c they subsidize your console purchase.
PC gamers, where can I buy a pc for $200 that plays games that looks as good as Gears 3? Thanks in advance...
My cousin only had to pay over $500 for his when he first got it.
i only payed $100 for my used gtx 460... whats your point? Anyway, I dont really trust bethesda when they say that.
Yeah you can buy a 4870 1gig on ebay for 40 dollars and beat all the consoles those old cards will still run games on MED settings.
So much love for PS3
it's a good time to be a console gamer *does a little dance*
No need for separation, it's a good time to be a gamer period, don't matter what your playing on.
I just built my first gaming rig a couple of months ago. Yes, it was expensive, and yes, it was confusing. However, I can run most console ports fully maxed out at 1680x1050 @ 60FPS or more and I still average over 40 FPS for GPU-heavy games like Crysis, Metro 2033, and so on (the only games I have trouble maxing out are Crysis 2 and GTA IV, but neither are optimized worth a damn for PC and I'm using ATI cards as well, while both of those games are optimized for NVIDIA cards). I'll never go back to consoles. My 360-S crapped out back in July (I was so pissed I sold my entire 360 game collection) and my PS3 collects dust while waiting for Uncharted 3 to be released. If I can get it on PC, I will.
I have a PC for multiplats and PS3 for it's exclusives... It's a win win for me.
I wish sony was still dominant in the console market. M$ messed everything up.
Same here. I might buy another 360 when Halo 4 comes around. We'll see.
"It will look a bit better on PC but it is the exact same game, we haven’t missed anything out."" Unfortunatelly that won't be the case after a while. Besides the drawdistances, higher AA, fps, and resolution, there is the biggest thing. I know it's marketing, to not alienate the buyers, but not mentioning the modding-community is a bit weird. As a modder myself, I would like devs to talk these things more... Also I might remember wrong, but didn't atleast one dev say that they aren't happy with the current consoles power? Maybe they were referring to future projects tought. My guess is that next big Bethesda game will be on next gen consoles, or just PC-exclusive until they come out, just like Oblivion was. Anyways, Skyrim looks stunning no matter what platform you choose, and will play too hopefully.
"I Prefer Playing Skyrim on Xbox 360 - Bethesda's VP of PR, Console Versions the Same" Great title again, let me fix that so that it will sound like "news": "Skyrim - Bethesda's VP of PR, Console Versions the Same"
Ooops, wrong article.. My bad
I want extreme grapchics I want it on PC=2560x1440 resolution, 4x antialias, Directx 11 graphics effects, Smooth 60 fps, Sweet!. I have a Ps3 and a Xbox but in tired of 1280x720 resolution, 0 antialias, blurry graphics, no directx 11 graphics effects, 5 years looking the same graphics quality is time to try something new!
i looooooooooove bethesda but to be honest their games realy dont have a record of the pc versions having a notable difference in graphics compared to the console versions, however their games do have some of the greatest modding communities & that alone is good enough to get it on PC
aka. "We will only make the game for what consoles can do." Why bother doing more when the name alone will bring the flock in?
