Mario Galaxy Sales Out of This World

Despite a slow start in Japan, Super Mario Galaxy is taking off in North America. Nintendo announced today that Super Mario Galaxy has sold over 500,000 copies in its first week of availability.

"Super Mario Galaxy had the strongest one-week debut of any Wii game to date and has also become the best-selling Mario title ever in its first week, with U.S. sales of more than 500,000, based on internal sales figures," says George Harrison, Nintendo of America's senior vice president of marketing and corporate communications. I think you should follow your own advice. If you are at the point where you feel it's just not cool to enjoy light hearted cartoon romps, then it is you who needs to grow up.

My guess is your 15 or 16 to still be doing the whole "I'm a grownup!" schtick.

See Super Mario 3 and get out & play more games and you will find better than Mario Galaxy.

Off to a good start. Wonder why it's selling a lot better in US than in Japan. Is it out in the UK yet?

I'm pretty sure it's out in the UK so it'll be interesting to see the sales figures there. But ya, it seems like Japan all of a sudden lost interest in Mario this time around. Maybe Italian plumbers have a bad rap in Japan this year...

Yea Japan is certainly fickle these days. They have been in love with anything Nintendo for the past couple years but they don't give Mario the Nintendo guru the attention. No worries and yes will be intresting how many UK bought.
