Top 10 Games for Halloween

BT: "This is not just simply list of the ten scariest games or the best horror games or what have you. Certainly, a good number of games on this list have their terrifying moments, their epics levels of gore, their soul shearing moments of horror, yet plenty do not as well. This is because Halloween, at least these days, is something of a paradox of a holiday. It is a holiday that both worships and mocks the darkness, a holiday that with one hand tells to remember there are indeed things to fear out in the night even as with the other it reminds us it is ok to laugh at would-be terrors. Halloween is as much the scared little child hiding under the covers from the monsters as it is the grown adult taking the opportunity to mock, even if just for one night, the things which (real or otherwise) go bump in the night.

So it is with all of that in mind that I have written and compiled this list. This list is composed of the 10 games that best represent all the various aspects I love and treasure about the holiday of All Hallows Eve. No doubt many of you will disagree with my choices and find exclusions that boggle your mind. This is fine, after all this is simply MY list of the Top 10 Games for Halloween and indeed, if things go well, at least one more BT staff member should be posting their own version of this list (or something close to it) the following week. Regardless, hopefully everyone can at least appreciate my choices and see them in the spirit in which they are intended. And if not… Well such are the things that comment sections are made for. And so, with no further ado, let us begin." (Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin, Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem, Folklore, GameCube, Luigi's Mansion, Nintendo DS, PC, PS2, PS3, Red Dead Redemption: Undead Nightmare, Resident Evil: REmake, Sam & Max: The Devil’s Playhouse, Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas: Oogie's Revenge, Wii, Xbox 360)
