Nintendo Universe writes: Nintendo are calling on fans to vote for their favourite games, as over thirty titles available for Nintendo platforms have received nominations within the 2011 Golden Joystick Awards.
Ocarina of Time = ULTIMATE GAME EVER.
in your opinion buddy, in ur opinion. to me, much greater games out lol
Look at metacritic. Ocarina 3D outscores so many high profile games this year. Don't make me name all of them...lol. A great game is a great game but a masterpiece has no rivals! Disagrees won't change this fact. :)
@eagle21 As much as I love Zelda, and loved playing Ocarina of Time, I have a hard time with "overhauled" or "remade" games being games of the year, especially since they have already received such awards in the past.
@eagle I love how people bring up metacritic when it's still a person's opinion. If a person didn't like Zelda or that person thinks there are other better games then that is what he thinks. Metacritic won't change that.
its a great game but definitely not the game of this year....
the funny thing about opinions they like a butt crack, everyone has one
I personally don't agree with nominating Ocarina of Time since it is a re-release.
wat else can u do, 3ds didnt have any games this year so they have too even if tthis is the 4th time it was released
Exactly So people want to nominate a re make or an already great game, which lets face it has had it's time in the spotlight when it was out years ago. Pokemon....well it's the same stuff really, still great though. It's like people just see it as "OMFG OCARINA OF TIME...BEST GAME EVA" What can you do, it's one of the few great 3DS games out this year.
As are most Wii/3DS games.
It's a remake. I'm enjoying it, but maybe it deserved game of the year when it originally released? Now, it doesn't count.
I'm one of the many that think Ocarina of Time is the best game ever created. It was fingertips away from perfection and ushered in a new era. Now's not the time to discuss that, though. I don't think that it should be nominated for GOTY in 2011. That honor should be reserved for games that have their initial release date that year. OoT got its haul of GOTY awards in '97. I don't think OoT needs to prove anything else. It's a mainstay in the best of all time discussion and it's a rare game that almost everybody recognizes as great, regardless of console preference. Give other games a chance to shine.
why is a remake getting this reward? why not give it to a new game?
both are great games but it will be interesting to see who wins. there have been many good games this year and its hard to predict hwo will win.
Let's see how opinions change when metal gear HD get a game of the year nomination when its released.
