Can Orgin from EA Compete?

Nic from Gamerfitnation asks the question as to whether or not Orgin can compete in today's gaming market with already established contenders such as Steam. "If you have been playing the new Battlefield 3, you will have come across Electronic Arts newest app named Origin. Origin is an application that allows you to purchase and play all your favorite EA games."

I have over a hundred games on steam and I wana keep all my games in one place so no way I'm switching

I'm in the same boat as you. I don't think Origin will ever be in a position to compete with Steam, and personally I think the whole thing was ill-conceived from the start. It should be interesting to see what happens with Windows 8 and XBOX Live. Currently though, Onlive is the only other service out there that I think could compete with Steam if they get more publisher support for their library. They've had some "Steam Like" deals with 75% off and stuff. I love the Onlive Arena.

I don't think so it's just a way for EA to get a bigger cut of PC game revenue. As they are selling the game directly they get 100% of the sale price so they don't need to sell as many copies to turn a profit.
