Volition Not Concerned with Launching Saints Row: The Third in November

In an interview with AusGamers, Volition's Scott Phillips, lead designer on Saints Row: The Third, shrugged off concerns about launching their open-world romp in the busy month of November, proclaiming their product as being among the more unique for the release period.

"Looking at everybody else that’s out in November, obviously there’s a lot of huge games," he told AusGamers. "But I think everyone can also see that a lot of those games are basically the same as they were last year, and the year before and the year before. And I think that we are something that’s brand new; totally different.

"We’re not trying to teach you a lesson or make you cry, we want you to just laugh and have a blast the whole time," he added.

Some companies should be concern about launching in November. Most people going out and buying the top mainstream games. I don't know why some companies keep thinking if they release their games in November, they will have huge sale figures.

Good Luck Volition

Uncharted 3 Skyrim MW3 Halo HD!

I see SR3 doing better in December than in November! I think if the game is good SR3 will sell very well in December. It'll be one of those games that starts slow then picks up steam and will be a Christmas present for most.

It just has NO CHANCE in November!

This is going to be one of the biggest and the best games released this year. I'm really looking forward to it.

SR3 is the biggest game this fall in the open world genre. No problem here. What they SHOULD be worried about is how the fans will respond to paying for cheat codes that were free in SR2.

Open world meaning non-rpg sandbox games? Cheats should never cost money, ever. I will buy them of course but will have a cross face on whilst doing so.
