Weekly Rant: Filler

Filler, repetition, padding; call it what you will, but it's damn annoying and infuriating. It's like a love scene in a comedy. What could be more maddening that that?

The story is too old to be commented.

Look at the LEGO games if you want a good example of filler. What started as a clever idea has become nothing more than busy work.

Resident Evil 5 is a good example of a game with too much filler. The entire middle is completely unnecessary. The temples, the caves, the random boat trek through a tribal village...None of it contributed to the plot and just felt like it was there to pad out the game to make it last longer than 3 hours.
