Rage Review -It’s been four long years since Rage has been in development, the graphics looked amazing and continued to improve throughout the years. They improved so much, in fact, I almost thought it was going to become a PC exclusive. After all the delays ID took to release the game, I started to lose interest thinking the game was doomed to vaporware. Luckily, the game re-surfaced back on the map and ID proved that their long awaited baby was destined for birth. It should come as no surprise that people know ID as pure innovation as they are the fathers of FPS games. Rage feels like ID formula: it has the amazing shooting mechanics, it is graphically one of the best looking games I’ve ever seen, but unlike today’s standards ID is stuck in 1993.
Alone in the Dark developer Pieces Interactive has been hit with layoffs a month after its release, as per the latest information.
That genuinely, genuinely sucks. The reboot has clear flaws, but it really felt like a solid first step for this team to receive *greater* investment.
Shenmue: Reclaiming the Path is a fan game using Dreamcast-era visuals, and tells a new story within the Shenmue saga taking place in both Hong Kong and Guilin. Its expected to release on September 16th.
Something about recreating old school graphics in an era of HD high poly photo realism just hits a spot. I'm not nostalgic cause I mostly played GameCube and GB/A, but it's a visual style that gets over looked even by indies.
Definitely a fan project. Terrible hand animations. Some characters have very bad body proportions. Some look like little kids in adult bodies. Some have short arms, small head, big hips and so on.
While the mainstream media always sees things turning in favor of the hero, here are 6 games that own being a bad guy.
Pretty much all of these games listed are based around a morality system you don't have to be bad and you don't have to be good.
It seems to have left out some real amazing games like red dead redemption 1/2,ass effect and true crime la/ny
Armored Core VI?
Ok, I'm really missing something here. Just beat chapter 3 earlier this evening, unlocked A-rank Arena fights. I'm not seeing or sensing any branching paths or morality system and I've done every side mission and arena fight available to me up to that fight.
Is something big coming soon to branch the story?
No mention of Grand Theft Auto? Saints Row (original trilogy), Manhunt? Also The Suffering (depending on the ending you get).
honest review
In my honest opinion its a 3/10 game, but definitely don't saying that I am a center of the world and everyone should have same opinion...id you let me down : (
"Rage created mega textures to add the best visuals you will ever see on a console and PC."
There's a limit on how far an opinion can go, to say such bold assessments for the PC that even Digital Foundry admits isn't too far from it's console brethren. Then there's also BF3 to compare which is pretty unanimous that it holds the title of best graphics (PC wise).
Added to that, the review is quite fragmented. In the end, I only managed to get the author's points after reading the entire score/summary below.
I only recently heard about this game, did not look much into it, but liked what I'd seen..
So, I purchased it, and have put about 8 hours into it.. and, yup, I thoroughly enjoy it.
I personally like the game, and it could be improved, yes [but what game can't?]. It's fun.
People always talk about 'Game A' is the killer for 'Game B,' nawh.. Hype is a real killer.
If you don't fall for the hype that some people place on games, you'll enjoy it much more.
