Battlefield 3's Single-Player Still Plays Like Terrorist Whack-a-Mole

1up: Less Bad Company and more Call of Duty.

DICE dont do campaigns they do MP.....suckaaaaaaaaaas.

StanLee2507d ago (Edited 2507d ago )

But the Fault line trailer was the same generic setpieces as every other FPS; take out that sniper, man that turret. Who's surprised?! When I said it then, I got a million disagrees but it's the truth. The gaming media wanted this game to be more than it it is and the fact is, it's not what it was hyped to be.

Killzone 2 was no different, but that didn't stop it from being one of the most enjoyable FPS campaigns for me (in terms of gameplay)

As exhausted as I am of FPS games, I have room for Battlefield, hoping it's full of large maps and vehicles like the MP as that it'd at least make it a little more unique

I used the beta to actually determine if the gameplay was fun.

Indeed it was and is fun. I like the timing required to jump over things almost....almost like mirrors edge meets BF the new animation system translates to single player as well.

I couldn't help but feel the weight of lugging around my body and trying to lunge over obstacles. this is the first game besides mirrors that I consciously have to keep in mind where my feet are not just the tip of my gun. very engaging.

I like it and I don't care what this article says.

@Alpha Killzone 2 was different. The whole setting the rag doll physics, the superb AI and animation of helghans etc was the reason it was special. The bridge sequence was on of my favorite moments in this gen. The smoke, the dust, the lighting and the lightning etc . The art style was dif. MW3,BF3,MOH are all going to look the same. Some americans attacking either the middleeast or russians. They dont stand out in SP. I think that is why KZ2 got away with amazing reviews inspite of having the same old missions as every other FPS

I agree, but what makes BF3 different is the vehicles and large battlefields.

Every FPS game has one or two unique attributes, it's about letting those attributes shine above the norm of the genre. I think BF can do that

MiamiACR692506d ago (Edited 2506d ago )

Every single player first person shooter experience is the same, so please don't go shouting names like Battlefield and Killzone like they're any different.

Killzone: Shoot that man! Move ahead. SHOOT THAT GUY NOW! GAS MASKS AND MANLY GRUNTS!

Call of duty: Huge explosion, SHOOT THEM ALl! Time to bomb Africa, and I'm the bomb! Move forward!

Same with Battlefield 3 single player and every other FPS. What makes Battlefield stand out is the multiplayer. I'm just surprised this article even needed to be written, then again most people don't know anything unless it's fed to them like Gerber.

I think I played the first 10 minutes of BC1 campaign and when I got BC2 I never started it.

BF series=MP with SP tacked on(now, it used to only be MP)

Cut DICE some slack, they are still new to this whole SP thing lol

Spitfire_Riggz2507d ago

The campaign wasnt too bad in bad company 2.

I really liked this part where they get seperated in the mountains and you have to create fire to warm up or you die

hiredhelp2507d ago

Right so they gonna bring out future DLC to SP for the fun of it? yeh ok.
Bf can do campaign just as well as any other.

-Alpha2507d ago

Well, sometimes I like to get home from a long day's work and just whack-a-mole, so I don't mind

xruiner892507d ago

Yeah, i don't mind this from single player. The graphics, animation and immersion will make it worth at least a couple of play throughs

SAE2507d ago

there is something called update , they always can fix the multiplayer , the campaign looks amazing , it looks the best war campaign but the multiplayer is not , maybe because of the lag or the bugs , or both xD ...
