Rage: When game journalists stop being polite and start getting real

Gamasutra's interview with the makers of id's upcoming title, Rage, is a shining example of solid games journalism.

The story is too old to be commented.

Ah, the comic in response to this interview: http://www.1up.com/features... Good stuff!

didn't even have to click on the link. I knew exactly what comic you were linking to.

The Gamasutra interview was awesome, and the complainers can live with the terrible video game coverage they've come to (apparently) love.

It's just a matter of time until the next article titled "When keeping it real goes wrong"

I don't like people playin on my phone!

The problem here is that people don't do this kind of thing enough to the big guys? (instead of a new IP, I know id has been around quite awhile)
Does anyone here think we will really question the design choices in games like Skyrim or Mass Effect? Even if they aren't as good as they should be?
I don't think anyone has ever been critical of how suckish a Call of Duty's single player design can be. Grenade spamming to artificially increase difficulty and force the player to keep a specific pace instead of actually working on better ai and level design? Really?

Edit Oops, that first line shouldn't have a question mark.

I dont understand the reviews. Im loving RAGE

ronin4life2240d ago

I can see where some of the reviewers are coming from, but alot of the negetive reviews seem more biting than constructive.
I also have Rage (the game), and while it frustrates me at times, I still think it is one of the best shooters in a long time. I'm loving it.

I think i just love the ability to throw a windstick while shooting, Drop a turret then switch to a shotgun and blow a mutants head off.

All in the space of a few second
