Now Steam will you be so kind as to unlock the game?

Please...? ;P

Its 10:42pm here in the UK. I know Valve wont unlock the game till gone midnight but I can only hope.

Although without the patch, im worried to what ill walk in to.

I've heard nVidia runs the game better, which is good because I have an nVidia graphics card :)

john22481d ago

Yeap, a GTX275 can max the game. Just make sure to use a custom rageconfig file till the patch is out ;)

Kran2481d ago

How custom?

Could you tell me what I should do?

I have a GTX 570.

Fishy Fingers2481d ago

Read that^ The update at the bottom has a config 'file' you could copy/paste and try. It's pretty easy, just read it through first.

Id and bethesda are making things as they should be. Hats off for not leaving us in the dark.

despair2481d ago

hmm good thing I have a gtx 285 OC then :)

Theo11302481d ago

Uh no a GTX 275 can not max out this game, those custom rageconfig files need at least 3gb of vram to unlock the uncompressed textures.

john22481d ago

Disagree on that Theo1130. That depends on your vRAM and not on how powerful your GPU is. My GTX295 in Single GPU mode can handle the 8192 custom config file with constant 60fps (in Single GPU mode, the GTX295 'behaves' like a GTX275 with 896 vRAM)

...Why would they omit graphics options in the first place?

k3x2481d ago (Edited 2481d ago )

Oh, probably just testing the waters. Checking what the PC players' reaction is going to be to a game that doesn't let them modify the graphics settings. Since they've announced a patch, it's safe to assume that it doesn't look pretty. For now.

Eventually, though, people will learn to accept it, just like they've learned to accept the lack of dedicated servers which they are now thankful for, whenever they're included, as if they were something special.

Fast forward a couple of years later, we're going to be seeing the same situation as far as game settings go and people are going to be thanking these companies whenever one of them releases a game that lets us change the screen resolution. How about some dedicated server and graphics settings DLCs? Bobby Kotick would like that very much.

TheGameFoxJTV2480d ago

More like more people are going to avoid the games, since things like this show a lack of "Give A Fuck" on the dev's side.

k3x2480d ago

Sure. Just like they're currently avoiding multiplayer-heavy PC games without dedicated server support.

Sobari2481d ago

Damn right you will, Bethesda.

Theo11302481d ago

The sad state of affairs of PC gaming, waiting for patches so we can config our game...I wouldn't be surprised Oblivion turns out the same.

Motorola2481d ago (Edited 2481d ago )

Console port much? 60 FPS cap, $60 price tag, and this "texture problem?" Yeah right, the mouse is faster than a analog stick so while you move the slow analog stick textures lose detail behind you that you cannot see. With a mouse you see this. Console port. Still a good game though.

BiggCMan2481d ago

On maximum sensitivity, an analog stick is just as fast a mouse is, just a little less precise still.

Motorola2481d ago

Unless you change the sensitivity of your mouse.

BiggCMan2481d ago

That is true, did't realize that. Yes a mouse on max sensitivity is ridiculous, can't even see what the hell is happening haha.
