With a slightly smaller sample filled with core, dedicated gamers, GameRevolution has a more accurate Holiday Wish List for gamers in 2011.
This list makes a lot more sense.
Seriously so many people get it wrong. For example gamers, or gamer's. If you want to say belonging to many gamers its spelt Gamers' !
Makes more sense to who? If core, dedicated gamers were the only ones who bought games, there wouldn't be a gaming industry. You think you're more of a core, dedicated gamer because Call of Duty isn't your most anticipated game this holiday season?
Stan, how come I am agreeing with you lately. I don't want to lookup your history, because I don't want to bias my interpretation of what your have to say. But I think this is the second time in a row that I have read your comments and completely agreed. Some of these sites have 50 - 100 gamers commenting and few of those vote on these polls. There are millions of gamers, and I am sure CoD will be one of the top 3 sellers again this year. I will not be buying it, as I have not bought it this gen (I have nothing against the game), but it will be a top seller again. Skyrim is my most anticipated game this year, even though I disliked Oblivion. Pete did say it compares more to Morrowind, so I am supper excited to play this game.
Core, dedicated gamers' were what made the game industry what it was until this generation we are in now, then came the masses.
It's a FAIL of a study. A panel of 20 surveyed! 20! Are you kidding me! I could get more people from my work lol. They shouldn't embarrass themselves like that. We all know MW3 is #1, then probably Gears 3, BF3, FIFA 12, then whatever. 20 people lol, can't get over that! What a joke of a poll!
Skyrim, Uncharted and Batman. That's all you need as far as I'm concerned.
AssCreed. Sure, I'm fed up with Ezio, but I'm willing to find out how it ends.
Meh you can kiss my AssCreed.
Absolutely. I can't bloody wait for those three. It's a shame that they're all quite so close to each other. I want to lose myself in each for hours. Possibly millions of hours in Skyrim's case.
anybody who is anybody in the gaming industry knows that skyrim is at the top of the majority's list this year. kudos to GR for showing some intelligence in a time where IGN is more likely to put cod elite at the top.
Sales WILL prove you wrong! Wake up, whether you like it or not, Skyrim is a niche game.
I'm not surprised about Skyrim but I thought Batman would be above uncharted since it's multiplatform.
I wonder what is number 1- oh.... bit shock ;O Nah not really. Totally Skyrim ;P
My list in order by release date: Deus Ex Resistance 3 God of War: Origins Dead Island Gears of War 3 Rage Spider Man: Edge of time Batman:Arkham City Battlefield 3 Uncharted 3 Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 Elder Scroll: Skyrim Assasins Creed: Revalations Halot: Combat Evolved -Ive played or have at home all of them through Spider Man: Edge of time, I got rage & Spider man to play & am going to finish up dead island by tommorow, dammit i love gamefly!
Halot: Cavalry Evolved. LOL, I couldn't help myself. I loved Batman:AA. Can't wait for B:AC.
lol woops thats funny!
bubbles for halot: cavalry evolved. I would buy that.
that list kinda looks like how game of the year could pan out! great list though. Dark souls, uncharted 3, Skyrim and Battlefield 3 (depending on singleplayer length) for me. Edit: and forgot Assasins Creed Revelations
Didn't Neilson, himself, just pass away today?
Yes, but it's not like he made all of the reports himself. The man was 93; he probably hasn't done anything at the company for a few decades.
How should we react to a thread about a poll getting more comments than there were people in the poll itself?
lets be real, the most anticipated game this holiday is modern warfare3. The dedicated online community (us) represents a small fraction of the total gaming community, namley those that don't research games.
Only 20 people voted? The results don't really mean anything then.
Pretty decent list. My only complaint is that I'm sick of military shooters. I want to go to new worlds in games not just the middle east and major cities.
