If you own an Xbox 360 you have probably played Gears of War, and if you haven’t played it you have at least heard of it. If you haven’t heard of it, well, I’m sorry but I’m going to have to confiscate your Xbox.
Released in 2006, Gears of War was an early exclusive that gained a following for it’s co-op shooting fun and the simple joy of chain-sawing your enemies in half; and here we are at the end of the line. Gears of War 3 brings the series to a close with more cover-based shooting, extra game modes, excellent 4 player co-op time and a quality story (who woulda thunk it?)
The co-op (+chainsaws) of Gears of War was really what drew me to the game and the 360 back in the day. Since then sitting down with a mate to blast my way through various enemies and the ‘stories’ of shooters has become a big part of my gaming time. So if you’re a fan of co-op and multiplayer games, or just want to know a bit more about the Gears with friends experience, I’ll be giving you a quick run through of the Gears of War 3 co-op, Horde 2.0, Beast Mode and Multiplayer.
