GamesRadar: Dark Souls Review

GamesRadar: The cure for the common Triple A title, Dark Souls takes every gloriously strange and punishing moment from Demon’s Souls and expands and improves upon it. While its fundamentals hew closely to the original's, Dark Souls is a completely unique experience with no direct competition on the market. For those who get it, it's undoubtedly one of the year's best.

yes buggy as hell and a quicksave function,

Yes, because a game that's challenging just needs a quick save function to help hold your hand since patience and strategy are hard concepts to grasp...

As for bugs, From Software has been working around the clock on them. Either 1 or 2 patches out by the time people get the game Tuesday (in NA). Also, its not as buggy as other games, and its far from the unplayable messes that some dev's have starting putting out lately.

well I meant for PC gamers only, I think you are mis reading my comment, as PC versions of multi-plats are always more buggy than the console counterparts and they tend to want or need the quicksave function

i understand the authors frustration i'm not the best at parrying in games. not that i can't complete a game that requires it but it is a definite harder thing for me than other kinds of techniques in games. which might be the main reason it's so heavily added in games nowadays. want to make your game challenging without having to do a lot of work? just add a parry boss. (what i mean by parry boss is a boss you have to beat by parrying such that their attacks will kill you otherwise)

I always think it's fine as long as such games also have the roll/dodge panic button. But I understand the will to parry, it seems so cinematic in a fight when you pull it off.
