Is NVIDIA 3D Vision for the elite gamer, or just anyone who enjoys fun and cool new tech?

Its for everyone and the best 3d tech out there as it uses active shutter at 60fps

It's very nice, and at first I thought it was amazing, but when I realized that on many games you need to turn off stuff like shadows or reflections for the 3D to work properly, in some cases you have to turn off multiple post effects just for the 3D to work so the game ends up looking pretty dumbed down.

In most cases I'd rather have a stunning looking game than a 3D one. There's also the problems of 2D hud, like in many RTS games the main cursor will be very hard to use, and in some FPS games the aiming reticule appears at totally the wrong depth making aiming awkward.

For the best results you need to play around a lot with depth and convergence but I dont think everyone will have patience for that. There are some games that look truly amazing in 3D though like Arkham Asylum, Starcraft 2, GTA IV and Just Cause 2.

I was surprised at how good Fallout New Vegas looked in 3D.

I love it!! It makes Dead Space 2 a true living nightmare.

I love it!! It makes Dead Space 2 a true living nightmare. And if you are a fan of Left 4 Dead, it will blow you away!

Left 4 Dead is good in 3d, but I could not get Dead Space 2 working.

I have been a fan of 3D since the "Magic Eye" days. I bought 3D Vision near launch and I was very excited to try it out. Fortunately, it was as good as I expected. Everyone I showed it to was impressed.

Actually, I have a complaint. After playing a game in 3D, playing it afterwards in 2D is just not that great anymore. When I play games on consoles I get sad and think to myself "I wish I could play it on my PC to play it in 3D". Thankfully, many games I like on consoles get PC releases, like Street Fighter IV, Assassin's Creed, among others.
