Future Press has revealed a few general combat and enemy strategies from their official strategy guide for the upcoming Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 game, Dark Souls.
i hate combat or spoilers in general, even enemy spoilers in this game haha. i remember back when ffx came out, i didnt have a ps2 and my friend was playing, I didnt even wanna be spoiled by the games music or menu clicking sound lmao, i covered my ears and ran out the room screamin lol! well almost the same ffor me with this. i will not touch the strat guide till the second play through. I enjoyed not knowing you could invade or be invaded in demons souls till 40 hours into the game. i know a moron who played demons souls while watching a youtube guide......wtf is the point of that?
Some people can't handle a challenge because they started gaming this gen where everything has to be "accessible" thanks to Nintendo.
Lol way to spin it . I remember sh*toad of people using gamefaqs for the ps1 and ps2 . And stuff like prima guide have existed for eons and every consoles . Heck previous eras were the golden age of action replay/gamesharks and in games cheats
Of course game guides have been around longer this gen, but this gen is one where they shouldn't be needed because games are so damn easy thanks to that damn "accessibility" trend. What I'm saying is that a game like Dark Souls comes around that completely changes everything and people are too used to easy so they NEED guides instead of just trying to get better by themselves.
Strategy guides? Only wimps will play this game using a strategy guide. EXCEPT when you use the official wiki site for build suggestions and other stuff that doesn't diminish the challenge of the game like where to get rare drops and such. I mean, if someone played the game through enough to find out that if you kill X enemy while the sun hits a tree at the right angle during dusk you'll get a rare stone, who am I to ignore that he chose to post that up where people could see it? Lol.
this is true, and even then i only use the guide after i beat the game, i dont care if i miss almost everything the first time haha. but hey the guide is needed for crafting and drops, that stuff is a bit to much to memorize or discover alone.
Yeah, I'm buying the guide, but I won't use it till at least my second playthrough, probably not until my third.
Combat and enemy spoilers are a major NO for this game, the press shouldn't be telling people how to fight enemies in the game. That is part of the experience!
