Deus Ex DLC will have a boss fight that does not suck

We absolutely loved Deus Ex: Human Revolution, as is pretty apparent in our reviews for the game (Xbox 360/PS3), but the boss fights really sucked in the game, a fact that everybody agrees upon. They took away from the element of choice the game focused on so much, and they weren’t very well designed either.

DXHR’s upcoming DLC, though, titled Missing Link, will have a boss fight that will not suck, and is being developed in-house, and not being outsourced to Grip Entertainment, unlike the boss fights in the game itself.

“We have a boss battle at the end, but it’s different from the main game boss battles,” the DLC’s producer Marc-Andre Dufort told Eurogamer.

“You can actually not kill the boss. You can do a non lethal takedown on him. And you can kill him from afar. You can even kill him without him seeing you. It’s more of a bigger challenge than a standard boss fight like we have in many games. (Deus Ex: Human Revolution, PS3, Xbox 360)

You can't kill him but you can kill him from afar. Huh.
The link doesn't work.....

what they mean is you can beat him in a lethal way OR snipe him to death from far as well as (presumably) pumping him full of bullets from close/medium range like current DE:HR bosses.

I didnt mind the boss fights in DX HR, there were not too bad and also nothign special.

People complained that you cant knock them out but I felt Jensen should really want to kill all the bosses as they pretty much killed him and made him what he is now. The also killed all the scientists, including his old girlfriend ;).

So even a total nonlethal jensen would want to kill the bosses because they are to dangerous for him to leave alive, unlike the random guards.

I was only about half stealth because I loved to turn the turrets and bots on my enemies after sneaking to the security hub.

I guess that's what they meant by "Missing Link."

(Just a heads up, link leads to "Page doesn't exist".)

The element of CHOICE. That's what Deus ex is all about. Hopefully, this DLC's boss fight will back that up. I love Deus Ex. I bought their Designer Jeans. I hope for the best.

Spoiler Alert! You can actually kill him without him seeing you...?

I've tried one boss fight and I thought it was pretty good. It was unfair and incredibly frustrating at times, but I really missed the feeling of shouting yes at the TV screen when I won.

I take it Eidos actually worked on this boss? Rather than outsourcing?

I didn't hate the game's bosses. I just thought they were average in an otherwise outstanding experience.
