Sony: 3D headset will 'revolutionize games, movies forever'

Sony's slick 3D headset will be a massive game-changer, according to the platform holder. The device features dual 1280x720 0.7-inch OLED panels mounted in front of each eye (apparently offering an experience similar to viewing a 750-inch screen from 20m away), as well as 5.1 surround sound from integrated headphones. Named the HMZ-T1 Personal 3D Viewer, it's set to hit Japan on November 11 for 60,000 yen (£481). There's no word on European release plans yet.

So what does this do?

gogospeedracer2519d ago

It will be a 'game changer' as long as they can get the price right! That is the most important aspect. It has to cost a fraction of the price of the system.

it's like a movie theater on your face.

The perceived screen size seemed the equivalent of watching an 80-inch display from around 15 feet away

Will the Japan 3D Visor work on a UK PS3 if I import it?

Dark_Overlord2519d ago

It should do, no matter where you buy the peripheral from, as long as the PS3 is compatible with it (which it is) then it will work perfectly

I have my doubts about whether or not this could have mass appeal. Gaming is one thing but movies and TV?

I must have this. Getting so close to the matrix...
