I missed MGS2, so I'm definitely getting the collection.

NukaCola2272d ago

I love the MGS series. It's one of the best around. This is good too, becuase people who haven't played them before will have a blast playing MGS4, and if they already did, will now understand all the stuff in it. MGS 4 is truly a tribute to 20 years of greatness.

I couldn't have said it better myself!

LastDance2272d ago

You can't have too many copies of MGS ;) Good eye regarding the avatar. It's not the traditional yellow fox, just something different, a hybrid if you will.

Baka-akaB2272d ago

Yup , couldnt bring myself to play extensively peacewalker hoping for such a port and now that it's there , everything is perfect

BootHammer2272d ago

I am so psyched to play through PW for the first time...can't wait ;)

TopDudeMan2272d ago

Yeah, I'm gonna get it. I never played peace walker so that alone will be enough. That's a smart move releasing that on it for the people with no PSPs

BootHammer2272d ago

It really was a great move by Konami. Talk about a huge amount of value in one purchase =)

NYC_Gamer2272d ago

I love the franchise but I'm not buying the collection since own most of the content

Nate-Dog2272d ago

Same. To be honest I wonder why so many people who have already played these games and still have them want HD remakes so much and seem so excited for releases like this. If you don't have the original console anymore or something then I guess fair enough but still it seems pointless to me the amount of people I know who already have all the games and who have played them aplenty and who are desperate to pay more for what they already have. A PS2 at this stage on eBay is way cheaper than this collection (and since I don't have a PS2 anymore I'm going to get one on eBay myself soon although with the other releases coming out I can't just yet).

dark-hollow2272d ago

if the fans are willing to pay, then why not?
it is a win win.

DigitalRaptor2272d ago (Edited 2272d ago )

I have both PS2 games, but I haven't played them in considerable time, so this is a great time to re-experience them in HD, optimised textures, with a higher frame rate and better lighting - all on a single disc!

Peace Walker is also a game I haven't played yet, and you get a FREE download code for that on PSP/Vita included. The news that Snake Eater & Sons of Liberty are coming to the Vita is just amazing. I can finally play these games on the go. Excited! :)

Nate-Dog2272d ago

@Dark-hollow: I don't see giving a company extra money for the same game that you already have except upgraded by a small amount in graphics as win-win. HD re-releases in my opinion should be mainly for games that aren't very accessible now or that sold fairly poorly but were rated highly (such as the Sly Cooper Series, ICO and SoTC, etc.). The MGS games can all be found on Amazon or eBay easily and for almost nothing, as can the likes of Final Fantasy X. It's good for those who haven't played the games but if you already have them and can still play them I just don't see the point in buying them again when it seems to give companies more of a reason to just re-release their older games rather than make new ones sometimes.

Y do people who have a 2010 mustang(or any other car) buy the 2011 one when its out? People just like it. They are fans of it, is it the same car ? yes, it only has a few things more than the 2010 one but people buy it cus their fans.

I have all MGS games, will I buy this ? Yes, because I'm a fan and loved the game. If I can play a game i liked with better video quality and sound, I will buy it.
