Smooth, my god. Looks like id Software kept their 60 fps promise. Edit: The circus thing is a mini-game called Mutant Bash TV. They have a much watered down version of it on iPhone/iPod.
Looks good and like the whole Circus environment concept.
Game looks really good, oh man so many great games this fall. Not enough monies....
Not really a lot of time either.
Bubble for your avatar. Hey, at least we will get 1st round draft pick next year, right?
Looks good for a game that's running at 60fps on low end hardware.
There is no need to talk about hardware right now, just enjoy the game.
*Sees comment history* Nice try. Stopping trolling and trying to derail this into a flamewar.
It feels a little "Bioshocky" to me but on 60fps thas too awesome, now I am more interested than ever on this
It may look like 60fps to you but it runs at 1fps for me- the video that is because I'm using crappy work computers ¬¬ Still- this game is going to be amazing!
Am i the only one who though that boss fight was like.... really really easy :/
I think the racing looks like a cross between twisted metal(not the new one as that seems a lot more complex, but the older ones) and dirt.
Reminds me of Jak3 personally. EDIT: Figured I'd rev up the old nostalgia engine and watch a few Jak3 vids too. Why is it that all my old games look better in my head? =x
I haven't played that but from looking on youtube there I see what you mean. Well it's as you called it "the old nostalgia engine", games will improve in your memory over time. I also think that peoples memories of the graphics in games is warped because each new generation gives you the feeling of fantastic graphic and it's hard to imagine what things were like before that. I had quite the shock when I had my PS3 for a few months years ago and my brother asked me for help on San Andreas and I couldn't believe how bad the graphics were. soundslike I was still using a CRT up until a month ago and can tell you that they do nothing to hide the imperfections of older games, it all in the nostalgia.
Theres actually a good reason tube tvs and scanlines did wonders to hide imperfections. watching anything designed for CRT tvs on an LCD HD monitor/tv is just misleading. IMO these HD remixes still look worse than the original games played on older tvs, you just aren't meant to see that level of detail
nOt really . There has been enough testing already for a few of the hd remaster like GoW (just like they often simply look better in pc emulators) , and some of us still got crt (less input lag for fighting games).
Haha, I was always reminded of Jak3 when I saw Rage. Miss those old platformers...
Yeah, nostalgia has it's effects. I finished Force Unleashed 2 about a week ago, then had this urge to play Battlefront 2 again... God, the graphics were a lot worse than I had ever remembered. Almost made me not want to play, and I was dumbfounded by the poor AI. But other PS2 games like MGS2 and MGS3 still actually look the same how I remembered. Especially MGS2 with it's 60fps goodness. Then there's the old PC games like Half-Life 2 and Doom 3... I swear, no matter how dated and old those games get, it's impossible to say the graphics are "bad" or "unappealing" in any way.
The whole game reminds me of a better version of Borderlands.
Looks good but the enemies are just toooooo damn ugly for my taste. No style.
Man, I really can't wait for this.
Great now i need to change my pants.
CAN'T BUY THIS GAME TILL I GET PAID DAMN IT!
Guess whos got paid ^^, going to slap some money down on Rage xD. TBONE you better get it before it goes out of stock mate ^^
looks fun... but just a rental imo. No multiplayer, just boring co op... id rather buy dead island, and that has no online modes except co op, but the game is just to much fun. Shooters are always the same, this game will collect dust if bought
Sorry, but it just looks like Doom with fast demons and a driving mini-game.
Cant wait to pay $20 for this game
I wasn't expecting Rage to look this good. It looks like a must buy now. I will have to wait for this because I can only afford to buy Uncharted 3 and BF3 for the rest of the year. When I can I will definitely pick this game up.
60 FPS with that kind of graphics is pretty amazing. Then im safe with PC version in 1080p 60FPS and more :) To gamers out there: Get this game, support it and have fun! Im sure I will support this beast for a long time as we move to the release of Rage! Its not often we see a good story in a FPS, maybe this one can turn this around :)
I don't know. Carmack's games are not known for it's story. Makes up for awesome gameplay though! -End statement
Can't wait :D
My PC will cruise through this game on max settings @ 60+ fps easily.
yes the pc version will look much better a generation ahead of the console version according to ID software but graphics don't make a game, remember that.
looks exactly the same as the 360 version for a game that was developed with 360 as the lead platform I'm happy that ps3 gamers didn't get short changed.
The video gave me flashbacks to the circus challenges in TimeSplitters!
Nice, looks great even filmed off screen...
Creepy... But it does look very smooth!
I saw some screen tearing, but that could have been from the camera recording it. If you're wondering how I noticed the tearing, it's because I downloaded the video and went through it frame-by-frame.
Looks great. So smooth and fast. Love the firing from the hip.
Console version is best to get unless you have a spare £500 quid for pc parts
And that was off-screen! =o
If Activision was smart they would purchase a license to use this engine when it becomes available for the next CoD. That would certainly help the quality of the franchise. It would also give us a long due break from the series. Let people forget about the game for some years so we can come back fresh. We all know that isn't going to happen, but I like to dream once in awhile. We'll just have to create our own break by playing other games instead of their yearly installments.
