Gears 3 story won't "please everybody"

Eurogamer writes: The game's writer Karen Traviss told Eurogamer this week that leaving a few threads hanging is all part of the fun.

"You're never going to please everybody," she said. "You're always going to have the people that want to do a fact sheet on Wikipedia with everything answered. You're never going to get that.

"I come from a background where a series with things left unanswered is part of the joy of it. They may never be answered, I don't know. But you can't tie up everything. There are some things that we know but the characters don't know yet - and may never know."

Nothing pleases everyone there'll always be some who'll like it and some who'll hate it.

Not even the almighty taste of bacon pleases everyone. #@!&ing Vegans.

Mmmmmmm . . . . bacon. So good.

I have a feeling they are saving gears of war 4 for a new microsoft console based on the ending to gears of war 3.

It seems obvious when you notice things.

StanLatMarveldotCom2518d ago

Yeah, the end was very open-ended. They good thing is, they can take the franchise in many directions.

bangoskank2518d ago

Did you play the game? It ended perfectly with no hint of a sequel whatsoever. If epic continues the franchise it will most likely be from another cog's perspective.

TheDivine2518d ago (Edited 2518d ago )

How could they do a gears 4? All the locust and lambent are dead. The war is over, humanity is saved. I could see prequals dealing with E-Day or the pendulum wars, that would be cool but i cant see how there could ever be a gears 4. I thought it bieng over was obvious and not open ended at all.

Oldman1002518d ago

I thought it had a great story. It also had a really sad moment. :(

Tanir2518d ago

is the sad moment actually sad and not hilarious like the whole sad thing with don in part 2? cuz i cracked up almost to tears

Tanir2518d ago

morons who disagree, im asking a question, how can you disagree with a question, just wondering before i pick this game up

bangoskank2518d ago

Moron, we disagree because some of us actually did feel something during that moment in gears 2 and it wasn't laughter.

TheDivine2518d ago

No its a great story and it actually has wieght to it. Its very well done and not just for a gears game. Trust me dont pass this game up its light years ahead of 1 and 2.
