I honestly don't even care simply because I know how completely unforgiving the CS experience can be, so it's nice that newer players can be eased in.
I don't know why the "hardcore" would care anyway. They don't have to play that mode. Hell, most of the so called "hardcore" can't even be bothered to play anything but the old CS 1.6. If they didn't jump to the source version then I doubt they will be playing this newer version either.
