Sony says most downloadable games for the PSP will be playable on the PlayStation Vita, and they're working on a program to make UMD titles compatible, too.
This will be great if they are able to implent some type of compatibility for the umd games.
An external disc drive? I don't think so. At least I haven't gotten rid of my PSP, in case I want to go back and play my UMDs :P I think it's great that you can at least download PSP and PS1 games.
Well a big fat duh! Between PSN, PS2 and PSP games on the VITA we have quadruple the amount of games we can play on it.
Don't forget psone games! There is a lot of games to be played on Vita.
Going to download a ton of PSP and PSX games onto this thing. LOL i might do that before even buying a Vita game.
BC + The PlayStation Suite = WOW!
I hope Sony use this strategy towards PS4. Imagine PS4 being able to play PS1, PS2, PS3, PSN, and PS4 from the get go.
and hardware acceleration
Im pretty sure they can go software route. There are chances that the PS4 will use an improved Cell as the CPU.
