Dead Island Review - The Digital Fix

So here we are, many months after that trailer and after much anticipation we finally get our clammy hands on Dead Island. On paper this game has it all: built on a great premise, weapon building, a large open world and drawing from many genre of games this should have set the gaming world alight. (Dead Island, PS3, Xbox 360) 6/10

I feel it is a 5.5. I'm not impressed with this game at all. Even my son won't play it.

I'm loving it and would rate it a 9.

you mean to play this? the recommended specs are pretty low...
processor: Core2Duo 2.66 GHz
Memory: 4 GB RAM
Graphics: GeForce 9600 (1GB)

my rig is overkill for this game
processor: i7-950
memory: 6gb
graphics: 2 msi gtx 560 ti in sli

there's obvious poor optimization on consoles with this one

i'd give it an 8 too. it's a lot of fun.
they do need to fix the console versions though. the PC has had 3 updates now and another on the way, whilst consoles had one which was pulled because it broke more stuff i've heard.

playing it on my PC versus my PS3 is night and day dude. and i'm not referring to graphics, either.

I believe that mate. What is a killer PC rig running these days?
One of the best games I played all year!

Seriously? You must not be playing much!

Definitely better than a 6/10.

It's a great game. I'd say an 8 but could have easily been a 9 with another month of work put into it. I admit though, it sucked if you bought it at launch and got to have your save file rendered obsolete with the update.

Side note: All the non main character females in the beach region are in bikinis. Seriously? I doubt that everyone just happened to be at the beach when the infection tore through.

I couldn't finish it. The bugs and glitches were bad....but the save glitch is just wow! Like how did this save glitch pass quality control?

Sure it'll be patched. So whatever.

I found the controls to be hit n miss. Lol
